Kokichi had been hurt before, over and over again. He had scars and bruises to prove it. Never ending marks around his throat from Maki, and a forever bleeding heart from everyone else. It hurts, to be ignored, to be insulted, to have your pain laughed at and brushed aside. For nobody to realize what your going through, even if you openly broadcast it.

Nobody cared, he learned that years ago.

Yet, even after realizing it he still craved for their affection, to be noticed.
However, that was a hopeless dream.

So he built walls, created a facade, changing himself to the villain they all paint him as. Eventually, those walls he built turned against him as well.
Kokichi was trapped by his facade, by others opinons. His emotions started to numb, till he was laughing while crying inside. Questioning everything he knew about himself, when did the lie end and the truth begin? Was he happy, or sad?
Piece by piece his real self was fading away.
How much longer till all was left of Kokichi was his facade?

Today however snapped whatever was keeping him together.

"Pathetic? Look at yourself, Kokichi. Kaito always has us by his side, see? But no one wants to be around you. You're alone, Kokichi. And you always will be."

To know and to be told were different. It was one thing to fear something, and another matter to have those fears confirmed.

If no one wanted him here maybe he should just disappear.

Shuichi POV

Kokichi was an unfeeling monster. He lies about everything and constantly hurts everyone around him. There's no need for him to target Miu like that, it's not Kiibo's fault that he doesn't understand everything, and Kaito isn't always dumb.
Those thoughts had been swirling around in Shuichi's  head all morning. Every time he thought about it, his hatred grew just a tiny bit more.
Maybe, if he hadn't thought those thoughts that day, things might have been different. Or if Kokichi hadn't said those words, but those are just maybes. Neither of them could have saw what was going to happen.

"Pathetic? Look at yourself, Kokichi. Kaito always has us by his side, see? But no one wants to be around you. You're alone, Kokichi. And you always will be."
Shuichi had expected Kokichi to reply with a witty remark or even laugh, but the reaction he got was neither of those.

"Would you all be happy then if I leave you alone? If I disappear?" Questioned kokichi.
His face was devoid of any emotions. Even his voice seemed more robotic then Kiibo.

It was unnerving and filled Shuichi with unease. Was Kokichi playing another one of his tricks again? Still Shuichi decided to say it "yes, we all would be much happier without you Kokichi. Nobody here would willingly spend time with you."

Kokichi's face remained devoid of emotions as he replied, "congrats, your wish shall come true then."
Without saying anything else Kokichi left.

Shuichi POV ends

What hurt the most weren't the words, it was that nobody said anything against it. Kokichi had thought that at least Gonta, or maybe Kaede, Kirumi, Kiibo, Rantaro or even Angie would say something. Even the nicest and most polite people didn't speak out in his defense.

Right now he just wanted someone who would listen and try to understand him. So he went to the only person he had left. It has been a while since they last talked mainly because they were busy with their new relationship, and Kokichi didn't want to intrude. However, Kokichi just needed sometime with his cousin, Nagito wouldn't mind right?
Going up the stairs he walked past his floor, instead going to the eighth floor, dorm o428. The door opened on the first knock. A fluffy mop of hair was the first thing Kokichi saw before he colasped into him.

The next day

Silence, total silence, it was never this quiet before and everyone was waiting for Kokichi to enter and ruin it. However class started and nobody saw Kokichi walk into class yet. He was usually exactly on time or "fashionably late." Half a our past and Shuichi scanned the classroom for Kokichi. Only to find him sitting at his desk working.

Kokichi had actually came to class early, however he hadn't said anything or had any interactions with anyone. Nobody noticed him because of that.

This pattern continued for the next few days. Kokichi would be the first to arrive and the first to leave. He wouldn't say anything or pull any pranks. At first everyone thought that it was a trick, however as time passed they got used to it.

A week passed and everyone was already noticing how things changed without Kokichi there. Without Kokichi one of them had to be the one to tell Miu to calm down, to explain things to Kiibo, to keep an eye on Gonta or to correct Kaito. Without Kokichi there was no way for Maki to vent her anger, and everyone had to walk on tip-toes around her when she was in a mood. Frustration grew between them all. Nobody wanted to tell Kaede that her optimism was pushing them a bit too far. Afterall nobody had the strength to crush her feelings by telling her to stop.
Normally Kokichi would tell others to stop when they went to far.

Miu's outbursts becoming annoying, and Kiibo's naivety was troublesome to deal with. More and more problems begin to arise.

Finally a meeting of some sort was called.

"I hate to admit it, but we actually do need Kokichi to come back." Himiko stated.

"Who would want that brat to come back? Things are much more peaceful without him." Said Maki.

" No that's wrong we need him here to keep people in line, like it or not he was the one who kept us all in check. You all have noticed it as well, right?" Shuichi defended.

"Hate to say this but that brat did do that." Kaito reluctantly admitted.

"Well then how are we going to get that piece of shit back! It's not like that little shots is just going to come back willingly." Exclaimed Miu.

"Auta thinks that Shuichi should apologize," claimed Angie.

Rantaro spoke up "she got a point, Kokichi changed after what you said."

"Then it's decided Saihira-san will apologize to Kokichi," concluded Kirumi.

"Objection, this conversation is not over. We need a backup plan as well." Shuichi said.

"How intriguing you want a backup plan. What beauty will I be able to witness here?" Korekiyo creepily stated.

Kiibo suggested " what if we all have a talk with him, if he doesn't accept Shuichi's apology."

"That's a great idea, Kiiibo. How about Shuichi apologizes tomorrow then. We can all wait in the classroom while he does so. Once he is done he'll tell us the results, so if that fails we can talk to Kokichi right afterwards!" Exclaimed Kaede.

With the plan settled they all went back to their dorms awaiting tomorrow.
