Donghyuck was surprised when he arrived at school and felt safe there, but what surprised him even more was the fact that no one glanced weirdly at him or even stared at them after so many days of being gone. Something changed though, he immediately knew what. Everyone was back to normal, like they were before. Werewolves stood with werewolves, the vampires would make fun of others while the wizards and witches would avoid everyone as usual.
"What happened here?" The angel mumbled, but of course, Ten heard him.
"I made some changes here and there." The vampire spoke and glanced at him. "And you'll respect them too."
Donghyuck suddenly felt sad and he took his hand out of Mark's grip. They looked at each other for some moments until Mark smiled at him and patted his back before joining Jeno and Jisung.
"Let's go, we need to make sure the others won't take our dorm just because Johnny is not here." The angel heard him say and he watched the three part from the group.
Jaemin sighed next to him and Donghyuck couldn't help but see his best friend glance at Renjun, who, in his surprise, gave him a small and sad smile. That made the angel furrow his brows and he was sure he'll have to speak with Jaemin about it.
"Come on Renjun, you too Chenle." Ten barked from the front and the two obeyed his words.
That left Donghyuck and Jaemin standing in the middle of the hallway, looking in that direction. The wizard took him by his arm and Donghyuck let Jaemin lead the way to their dorm. On their way to their floor, the angel couldn't help but look around himself.
The whole school looked like the previous years and it made him feel sad. He didn't like this sight, but he knew he couldn't complain now that he wasn't even part of his so called people anymore. He didn't even want to know what the others would think of him if they would find out he was a pure angel.
On their way up the stairs, the two bumped into Taeil who widened his eyes when he saw them.
"I thought you both died somewhere!" The older exclaimed and he first hugged Donghyuck tight, then Jaemin. "Where were you? Taeyong made an announcement that you guys got lost in The Forest and there were some groups that were searching for you."
Hearing his words, Donghyuck felt guilty, but he tried his best to chuckle and pat Taeil's shoulder as if nothing really happened.
"Come on you two, Kun was so worried."
They followed Taeil to their dorm and the first thing Donghyuck got, was a tight hug from Yangyang. The angel chuckled and he looked at Kun who looked like fainting while Xiaojun was laughing at him.
"That was not funny!" Kun exclaimed and dragged Yangyang away from him. "You two could have died in that place!"
"But we didn't." Jaemin chuckled and received a glare by the Chinese wizard. "We're sorry for making you so worried hyung." He mumbled and looked at his feet.
"When Taeyong told everyone that you two, along with that vampire are missing, we really thought you guys dropped out of school." Yangyang said and threw himself onto the sofa.
"Yeah...You were the only one who thought that." Xiaojun rolled his eyes and pushed his friend away so he would sit comfortably on the sofa as well.
Donghyuck frowned a bit.
"What about the werewolves?" He asked and the wizards looked at him.
"What about them?" Kun asked.
"They were missing too."
Taeil chuckled and shook his head.
"Their queen called Johnny's pack, but it's really weird that only Mark, Jeno and Jisung are back after so many days."
"Maybe the rest decided to stay there." Kun replied.
Donghyuck felt sick suddenly. He knew what actually happened to them, but he knew he couldn't say a thing. His eyes met Jaemin's who tilted his head in understatement. The angel sighed and tried to shake the thought away.
"I'll be in my room, resting for a while." He announced them and left the room quietly.
Once he was inside his room, Donghyuck dropped his body on his bed and the tears started falling down his soft cheeks. He really tried to think of all that happened as a nightmare, but everything turned out to be real.
The angel didn't even realize he fell asleep while crying, until Jaemin knocked at his door to tell him it was dinner time.
"I'll be out in a minute." Donghyuck mumbled and looked at his reflection in the mirror. Good, so he didn't look as if he cried few hours earlier.
The dining hall was full and the six of them found their usual seats at the long table. Of course, Taeyong had to make a speech about their arrival, but Donghyuck knew he was more happy that he, the angel who ran away, was at school again.
Donghyuck felt some students staring at him which made him uncomfortable, but he ignored them. Sometimes, his eyes would fall on Mark's face who was sitting at the next table along with Jeno and Jisung. They made eye contact twice, but that was enough for Donghyuck to feel his heart beat faster.
When the clock in the shape of an owl sang the loud little song that made everyone aware it was already late, Donghyuck followed his friend back to their dorm. He saw Mark going up the stairs to his dorm and that's when the angel saw his bruise on his cheek.
He felt the need to go to him, but when he bumped into a witch who smirked at him, the angel felt lost. Something about her made him feel scared and he even felt exposed as if she knew his tiny secret.
"What are you doing?" Jaemin's voice made him come back to reality. "You were looking at the wall." He chuckled and Donghyuck furrowed his brows.
He was sure there was a witch, but when he looked back, the staircase was empty.
