Chapter 33: Running Away

Now that WangJi was by Xian’s side inside the ward, Xian was getting more emotional.

“WangJi… She’s not waking up… Tell her to wake up and scold me…”
Xian said in between tears, one thing that Xian himself couldn’t understand was this new emotional outbreak, why was he so restless watching this woman sleeping lifeless.

“Baby don’t worry she will wake up, stop getting worked up, I don’t want to see you having another attack so please for me. Stop crying.” WangJi said as he left a kiss on Xian’s forehead, he kept on holding Xian till he heard  the door open and he stepped back a little, but Xian held onto his hand.

“A-Ji why is A-Xian crying like that? Did something happen?” Yanli who just spotted her brother crying asked in a worried tone, accompanied by her father whose facial expressions were blank as if his mind has gone numb.

“No… Nothing happened; he’s just getting restless watching Madam Wei sleeping like that.” WangJi said patting Xian’s shoulder that didn’t even bothered moving and leaving Madam Wei’s hand. It was a little too big of a shock for everyone in the room.

But witnessing the scenario both Yanli and Mr. Wei decided to keep quiet, soon Yanli made her way to the opposite side of Madam Wei and sat next to her, holding her hand and silently crying.

“Look at you woman… You have hurt these two beyond human imagination yet these two are here holding your hands and praying that you wake up” Mr Wei exclaimed a sigh and looked at his children, he was feeling sorry in fact it was killing him inside watching Xian tearing because of this woman.

“A-Ji take Xian outside, he doesn’t needs to be here.” Mr Wei now asked WangJi for help as he knows that this much wailing and exhaustion can result in nothing else but Xian getting sick

“I understand, let’s go outside Xian, she needs quietness” WangJi said grabbing Xian’s shoulders, gesturing him to go outside yet Xian remained seated.

“Xian don’t be stubborn.” Mr Wei said calming his own self down

“It’s… It’s her… She’s holding onto my hand…” Xian said shocked as he was and in a denial

“A-Yao… A-Xian…” a murmured voice came from Madam Wei’s direction, leaving everyone else in a shock

“Mama… A-Xian is here, gege went out for a while. Wake up please.” Xian said squealing in between tears, leaving Mr. Wei and Yanli in a dismissal as they heard his words.

“A-Xian…” Madam Wei said, trying her best to reach out her hand towards Xian.

Xian without a second thought moved his face towards Madam Wei’s hands and let her touch his face. Her eyes were half closed, her sight was blurry yet tears were falling from her eyes. Meanwhile, Mr. Wei had already called out for the doctor.

Madam Wei touched and caressed Xian’s face, Xian was under an unidentified spell, he was crying as the woman touched his face, his grip on WangJi’s hand tightened as WangJi felt the rush of emotions inside Xian’s body.

The same moment the doctors arrived and asked the latter to leave the room. Mr. Wei and Yanli argued and decided to stay yet WangJi somehow pulled Xian out of the room.

As soon as Xian left the ward and WangJi took him outside, Xian fell on his knees bawling his eyes out. At first WangJi couldn’t understand all of what was happening but he can’t just leave Xian like that, He knelt down, hugged him and started rubbing his back again.
