I plopped down on my bed quietly, my phone in hand waiting quietly in thought before sighing lifting the phone to my ear after clicking Meredith's contact. It rang for a little before the line connected "Lilith?" She asked shocked to of heard from me
"Hey, Mere, how have you been?" She scoffs from the other side
"How have I been? Lilith, where the hell were you?" She asks angered "You disappeared, where the hell have you been," My hand goes to my hair nervously as I twist one of the blond strands around my finger.
"That's a long story, I'm home though," I say she scoffs once more
"You're gonna have to do a lot better than that, I've been worried sick," She says anger prevalent in her voice.
"Can we meet? It's been a while and I would love to see you," The line goes silent.
"I'm in town, how about lunch?" I thought before agreeing quietly and the line goes dead. I stand from my bed to get dressed. I head downstairs taking my jacket off the back of the chair.
"Hey dad I'm going to go meet a friend," I say and he nods I call a taxi
Heading down to the restaurant we'd agreed on I pulled the gloves on my hands to cover from the sun that had peaked out and heading up the steps. Pushing my hood down and searching for Meredith's brown hair. I pull the gloves off my fingers shoving them in my pocket. I found her pulling the chair out sitting down across from her to see her sipping on a coke. She looked taken aback at my appearance, I'm sure the golden eyes didn't help. "You're a vampire," She points out. My jaw drops "What you thought I didn't notice your boyfriend? Do I look like a fool?"
"How do you know?"
"Well, easy explanation, I'm a witch," I gap "Not the hocus pocus kind, but the nature kind, we feel vampiric shifts. Just as I know about the shapeshifters on the reservation. Did you think you were the only kind of supernatural being in the world?" I think before lifting an eyebrow and agreeing "Is this why you disappeared?"
"Kinda," I say "Its still a long story, abridged version, I almost murdered my sister and I ran away and hid for months," I explain and she snorts
"Sounds like a blast," She comments
"Tell me about it," I say teasingly back. The waitress comes back asking if I wanted anything, I decline. The rest of the lunch consisted of teasing jokes and just being friends.
"I should be heading home, I have a long day tomorrow," She says putting cash on the table. I sigh checking the watch on my hand nodding "This was fun, let's not make it 7 months before we do it again,"
"Of course not," I agree, hugging her tightly she pulls away leaving, and I sigh getting up and getting another cab heading home and up into my room. Laying in my bed staring up at the ceiling thinking about the good day I'd had. The sun began to set as I laid there, I hear a car pull up, assuming its Bella only to hear Edward's car pulling up just as fast.
"If you ever touch her against her will again," Edward's seething voice comes through causing me to sit up fast. I make my way down the stairs, slowly trying not to alarm Dad. I can hear Bella begging them not to fight.
"She's not sure what she wants!" Jacob argues
"Let me give you a clue! Wait for her to say to words," I swing the door open Charlie close behind me, Bella is trying to push them apart only failing.
"Fine and she will," Dad's sudden presence caused them to clam down just enough for him to pull them apart.
"Easy, let's take it down a notch," Dad says separating the boys. "What's going on?" He looks between the vampire and wolf with confusion, I move to Bella taking her curled up hand into mine and looking up at Jake with inept interest, my blood boiling wondering what would've caused this injury.
"I kissed Bella," I drop Bella's hand pushing her back away from me standing next to Edward, anger filling me faster as I connected the dots. "And she broke her hand punching my face. A total misunderstanding," The last part of that statement caused my anger to flare. Dad backs up having no clue what to say. I had plenty before I could comprehend my anger, my fist flew knocking him back to the dirt, he clutched his bleeding nose. Both Dad and Bella spoke in shock.
"Edward may be too much of a gentleman to fight in front of Bella, but I don't care. If you ever, ever, touch her again," I threaten, I feel Dad's hands pulling me back "I swear to god Jacob I'll kill you!" I shake Dad off looking at Edward who didn't say anything but was extremely pleased with Jacob's pain.
I can hear Dad "Got one clumsy ass daughter and another who's the hulk. Super," I roll my eyes and I grab Bella's uninjured arm pulling her to Edward's car. Edward got the hint moving into the driver's side and making the drive to his home.

"It's just a sprain," Carlisle informs wrapping Bella's wrist gently. I sighed taking a seat carefully on the couch "It should heal fairly quickly," Emmett and Jasper came into the room.
"Tried to walk and chew gum at the same time again, Bella?" Emmett ask and I snort, Bella glared at me.
"It happened once, and no. I punched a werewolf in the face," I laugh quietly Emmett looked impressed at this.
"Badass, you're gonna be one tough little newborn," Emmett comments
"Hey, I actually knocked him on his ass!" I argue Emmett lets out his normal loud laugh when Bella comments
"Tough enough to take both of you on!" Bella says
"Convincing," I teased, suddenly from behind Rosalie slams the newspaper she was reading down onto the table getting up annoyed and leaving.
"Don't worry about it," He says and I sigh Carlisle turns and looks at Jasper who'd entered the room after Emmett.
"Got any leads?" Edward asks Jasper
"No sign of the intruder but Victoria continues to make appearances,"
Bella looks at Edward and follows the blonde beauty. I didn't follow, the two have never had a conversation alone and they didn't need me.

I'm sitting next to Jasper, waiting for Bella. I knew dad would be haywire wondering where we were. Bella comes speeding into the room like her hair was on fire. "Did you know?"She asks her eyes wide with confusion
"About?"
"The bet," I snort looking at Jasper who looked betrayed that Rosalie would mention the bet to my sister.
"I told you Rosalie would spill," I tease him and he glares at me I look back at my sister "Yes, I knew," She sat down pouting "I have 2 figures on the fact I think you'll be like me when I turned," She gaps at me like a fish causing me to laugh again. "Come on we have to go home," I say closing the book in my hands and put it on the coffee table leaning over giving Jasper a meaningful kiss and motioning to my sister to head out.
