I held the baby, using the cloth to clean her from the blood that covered her. Rosalie joined me as we stared down at this bundle. "She's beautiful," I whisper, "She has Bella's eyes," I point out Rosalie stares too marveling at her. "Little moon," I comment, lifting her to my lips, "No one will ever hurt you," I promise. Rose still doesn't speak as I take a seat on the couch cradling my niece, Rose moving every so often to touch her head.
I could hear footsteps behind me, calm and slow. I didn't look back though, sensing no danger. I loved this baby more than I thought I would, but this happiness stopped when dread filled me. "Rose, take the baby," I say, and Rose takes her eagerly. When I hand her off, Edward yells.
"Alice, Jasper, Noah!" I rush
"They're coming from the east," I informed him when we made it outside.
"We're outnumbered," Jasper says, as we look at the large pack
"By a lot," I look at Jasper, fear in my eyes and I knew he could see it. I look back at the wolves when Edward speaks.
"I won't let them hurt my family," I knew this was inevitable. We all move for the pack each of us taking on a losing battle. I move, but even with my senses I'm over powered. A wolf on top of me, his jaw snapping over my face. I tried pushing him off but couldn't, he had me pinned. I yelled when suddenly his weight was gone. I move standing to see Carlisle had pushed him, they were back helping our numbers. I immediately move back to fighting again I got my arms around a wolf's neck flipping my body and watching him fly hitting a tree hard. He didn't get back up and whimpered, I knew he wouldn't die, but he was injured. I turned closing my eyes using my speed to run up a tree, avoiding the wolf and landing behind it. The wolves had managed to corner us when suddenly Jacob ran out.
"Stop!" He says blocking Sam's way. "If you kill her, you kill me!" Sam advances anyways and Jacob shifts
"Jacob imprinted," Edward says, "They can't hurt her, who ever a wolf imprints on can't be harmed. It's their most absolute law," We watch the pack retreat begrudgingly. I watch my mind still whirling. Edward looks at me confused but doesn't say anything as I immediately turn heading back into the house, Jasper following close behind me.
