I can hear Alice downstairs with dad, their conversation faint making me stand and walk down the stairs to meet them. "Yeah so my family they're going camping for the weekend, I decided you know this year I didn't want to go wanted to spend some time maybe shop and go to the spa and stuff. I thought we better to spend that with than the twins, a gift if you will," She speaks fast "Can the twins spend the night with me?" She asks sweetly

"Of course," Dad agrees almost immediately and Alice claps her hands together excitedly causing dad to laugh at her enthusiasm. Dad caught me watching in the doorway. "Lil, hey," He greets, "Alice here was telling me all about your plans," I nod looking at Alice with squinted eyes, she just smiles wide at me.

"Yeah, Alice just asked me yesterday," I lie swiftly "I was going to bring it up tonight but Alice beat me to it," Dad smiles at the pixie, obviously taking a liking to her. I take a seat on the couch fiddling with the cloth blanket.

"Well have fun girls," Dad said Alice looks down at the watch on her wrist sighing with a small smile

"I have to go," Alice speaks and Dad nods

"I'll walk you out," I also stand following Dad who'd opened the door to let Alice out. Alice takes a graceful step over the threshold. I step out after her as Bella shows. "Okay, Alice! Don't be a stranger!" Dad yells after her as we meet with Bella. Bella's face showed her confusion at the interaction between our father and the pixie brunette we'd come to love.

"You alibies for the battle are all arranged," Alice gives Bella a dazzling smile at the news

   "Really?" Bella asks

"I told your father that our whole family is going camping for the weekend so..." She draws the so out for a moment "We're all having a sleepover at my house," She smiles widely Bella nods in understanding "Charlie's going fishing anyways," She shrugs off

"Charlie?" Bella prompts surprised at the new status "You guys are on first-name basis now?"

"You have no idea how weird it was coming down to them conversing over Charlie's coffee," I mumble crossing my arms over my chest Alice laughs.

"Me he likes," She teases "Actually you and Edward will have the house to yourselves tonight," She informs my sister who looks shocked at this new information.

"Like alone?" I raise an eyebrow

"We're all going hunting, powering up for the battle," Alice inclines her head "You're welcome," She prompts once again with a wide smile. She chuckles before saying her goodbyes and getting into the bright yellow car that she'd just received as a gift from Edward and driving away leaving Bella and me alone to watch a glimpse of yellow disappear. I look at my sister chuckling.

"Sometimes I wonder what goes on in her head," I mumble to which she laughs I join in with her. After a moment we decide to turn and head up the stairs. Heading into the house and into the kitchen. I beeline for the table taking a careful seat on the wooden chair as Dad offered us sandwiches. I shake my head as Dad starts the conversations.

"The sister, I like," Bella looks up at our father as she washes her hands attentively.

"Alice," Bella fills in "Yeah she's great," Bella offers, moving and turning the tap off and turning to lean against the counter waiting for dad to say something as he makes a sandwich. Bella looks at Dad, a thought floating around in her head. "Hey dad," He looks up at her "Why didn't you get remarried after mom?" I raise an eyebrow interested in his answer dad clears his throat not expecting this question.

"Uhmm..." He paused putting his knife down bracing his hands on the counter in thought "I don't know... I guess I still haven't met the right girl..." He responds awkwardly "Why?" He says uncomfortably Bella shrugs not really having an answer to his question

"I thought you just... Maybe gave up on the whole institution of it..." She pauses "Of marriage," She clarifies "Do you think there's any value in it?" Dad had picked up his knife puts it down again a little harder than before.

"Yeah," He says nodding his head "Yeah, marriage has value," He inhales sharply "You can wait till your older, much older," He gives me a look that told me he was referring to my engagement about a year prior. I put my hand over my ring almost as if to hide it from him "Like your mother, it seemed to work out fine for her the second time around," He says leaning against the counter his glances fleeting to me and my ring. "Later in life," He adds laying on the hints heavy for both Bella and I. I look at Bella with wide eyes knowing she'd unleashed a can of worms. Bella agrees quietly and I stay silent. "I mean... you definitely don't want to have to get married because you weren't... careful," I cringe not liking the topic that was ahead. Bella looks confused

   "What?" She asks

"You know what I'm talking about," Dad says continuing down the path that got more and more uncomfortable as the seconds ticked by "There are things you need to think about if you're going to be," Dad closes his eyes in disdain "Physically intimate," He says and my frown deepens in disgust Bella rushed to stop him.

"Okay don't have the talk!" Dad puts his hands up surrendering.

"Its just as embarrassing for me as it is for you two," My face stays scrunched

   "I doubt that," I comment

"Besides mom beat you to it like 10 years ago," Bella informs him

"You two didn't have boyfriends 10 years ago," He argues

"It still works the same!" I argue rubbing my face

"Alright... so you're being safe," I groan

"Okay, dad... Please just don't worry about that. Edwards... old school," I stay quiet

"Great, is that code for something?" He asks

"Dad... I'm a virgin," Bella rushes out and I groan as Dad covers his ears.

"Okay," He says motioning her off I stayed planted in my seat not sure what to do as Dad turns to me. My eyes widen knowing I couldn't say the same as my sister. I panicked internally putting up finger guns and clicking my tongue before rushing away from my dad. If I wasn't dead and lacking a blood flow I would definitely be purple in embarrassment.
