Jecho's POV

Pinaalis ko muna si Angelo upang mabigyan kami ng pagkakataon ni Mr. Chua na makapagpag usap. I don't know but I feel that he will tell me something important dahil siya na mismo ang pumunta dito para kausapin ako.

"I heard that you had this amnesia thing. Are you okay now?" pagsisimula niyang tanong.

"I'm okay now Mr. Chua. Thanks for the concern," I answered while looking back at him in a stern way.

"You're too formal iho. Just call me tito. Anyways you're my daughter's acquaintace."

Acquaintance. Yun lang ba ang tingin nila sa relasyon namin ng anak nila? Di nalang ako nag react and just smiled a bit at him.

"Sige po. Tito," I said.

"Anyways, enough for that. I am here for an important matter. Di ko alam if alam mo na but Athena will be going to US for her shot." Mataman ko lang siyang pinapakinggan. He is telling me about Athena's so-called shot. "She has a muscle paralysis sickness. Namamamhid ang katawan niya. Nawawalan ng lakas ang paa niya causing her to not be able to walk for days."

Kaya ba palagi siyang nawawalan ng balanse the last time? "Is this serious?" tanong ko sa ama niya.

"She must undergo her second shot next week. Nasa kanya ang chip kung saan pipindutin niya yun to schedule it."

My face got serious with what I heard. I don't quite follow what he's talking about but one thing's for sure. She's sick and she will leave because of it. "When will she come back when she'll go get her shot?" Seryoso kong tanong sakanya.

"The last shot she had she spent 10 years in the lab. But this time we are not sure how many years will we wait," he is looking at me seriously as if he's studying my reaction.

Nanatili naman akong kalmado. Di ko alam kung anong dapat kong maramdaman sa sinabi niya pero pinanatili ko ang composure ko. "We don't know." That's what I said. "What will happen if she will not get the shot?"

Napansin ko ang pagkuyom ng kamao niya at pag igting ng panga. "She will not last for another year. Her muscles are not functioning well now. Pag hindi yun naagapan she will eventually..."

Dun na nagwala ang sistema ko. Marahas akong tumayo at naglakad lakad. "Why didn't she tell me about it! Why did she kept it to herself? This is a serious thing." Lakad lang ako ng lakad na para bang sa ginagawa ko may maisip akong paraan para pigilin ang dapat mangyari.

"We should send her there as soon as possible. But then..."

Bigla akong napaharap sakanya. "But then?"

He heaves a sigh. "She won't get it. She called me a while ago telling me she won't take her shot. She wanted to be with you. She wanted to be by your side. Iniisip niya na walang kasiguraduhan ang shot na yun. Walang kasiguraduhan ang paggaling niya at pagbabalik dito. All of this is because of you."

Hinang hina akong napaupo sa sofa. Why? Why is she thinking about this? "I thought she had decided to leave me. Why think of that now? Bakit niya iniisip na wag nang umalis after all that she'd done for me to forget her just so she can leave me without regrets?" Napahilamos ako sa mukha ko.

"Because she loves you. She loves you that she can sacrifice herself to be with you. She loves you that she doesn't care what happens to her just so she can be with you. Kaya ako nandito ngayon..."

Nangingilid ang luha ko na tumingin sakanya. "What can I do? Tell me what can I do for her to change her mind?"

"Convince her. Tell her to take the shot. I don't care what you will do basta gusto ko na pindutin niya ang chip na yun before next week or else wala na tayong magagawa. She needs to leave Jecho. She needs to. We need her. She's our only princess ayaw namin siyang panooring mamatay na lang na wala man lang kaming ginagawa. Alam ko malaking risk ang gagawin namin. Di namin alam kung may magagawa pa ba ang shot na yun. Kung gagaling ba siya dun. But we have to take the risk just to save her. So please... Please do something..." Kahit siya ay naluluha na din.
