MERIELLE'S POV

I holed up inside my room thinking through everything that had happened at Lucifer's room. Thanks to what happened, I don't know how to face Lucifer or Diavolo or Barbatos anymore!

"I'm feeling stupid," I grumbled as I bury my face on a pillow.

Knocks came from the other side of my door and I shouted through the pillow, "Come in!" to the one who knocked.

The door opened and I waited for whoever it is to speak up to know who it is.

"What happened to you? You look rough," a familiar voice said.

Leviathan, the otaku avatar of envy.

I groaned. "I don't want to talk about it, Levi."

"You at least need a breather," he simply said and I took the pillow out of my face. Levi smiled and I smiled back before he continued. "And perfect timing! I am looking for my knight in shining armor."

I chuckled as I sat up from my bed.

"Am I not the one who needs a shining armor since I am the lady, Leviathan?" I teased.

"Pfft! Who says you need a knight in shining armor?" Levi teased back.

That may sound offensive if I was like any other girl, but there is something that I let everybody know.

I am not like any other girl.

And I let that be known in any way I could.

"Then what are we waiting for?" I said as a knowing smile came across Levi's face.

     "Game on!" Levi declared.

An hour later, a battle round of The 5V5 Demon Battle has been won by Hero Levi*chan and Knight Elle otherwise known as Leviathan and yours truly.

I took off the purple gaming headphones that Levi bought for me on Akuzon three weeks ago and took deep breaths. I felt Levi got up from his gaming chair. A minute later, a plastic bottle of water is near my face. I looked up to see Levi drinking from his own plastic bottle of water. I took it and gave him a grateful look.

"We won," Levi said as he wiped his chin and placed his bottle down.

"Yeah. Just barely," I said as I did the same.

     "I agree," Levi said.

I turned my chair around to face him.

"We need to tell our groupmates to enhance the defense in the center while we focus on the beamers at the right side or the left side," I commented.

Levi nodded. "So, you noticed that the other team mostly attacks at the center, too, huh?"

"Yes," I said and continued telling him my concerns. "You and I could hide at the bushes at the right side while making our way through to their boss demon. A pair could do the same on the left side."

"While the last pair guards all three lines? Our defenses will fall down," Levi said.

     I nodded, thinking it through.

"We could respawn to our starting space and the other pair can do the same when we need to strengthen up our defenses," I suggested.

"The knights can respawn back," Levi said. "Us heroes can move forward."

I grinned as I crossed my arms. "What happened to your whole 'heroes always need their knights'?"

"We sometimes have to sacrifice!" Levi said almost jokingly.

I laughed as well. "I thought I am being replaced."

Levi turned serious and looked at me. I stopped laughing and stared at him quizzically.

"You? Replaced? By me of all demons?" Levi said.

     "Huh?" I muttered.

Levi swiveled his chair and smiled softly at me.

"I would never replace you," he said clearly.

I just sat there like a dumb person, processing what he just said. What does he mean by that?

I mentally slapped my face as I told myself, "He meant that as a gaming partner, idiot! Don't get any ideas."

Levi swiveled his chair and faced his computer. He placed his own headphones back on and started typing on his keyboard and using the mouse. All the while he was doing it, I continuously stared at him. I studied his movements, his face, his breathing as he typed hastily. Now that I am staring at him so intently, I noticed how innocent he looks. He is like a normal, otaku, gamer teenager. He is just like me when I was in the human world.

Whenever I have nothing else to do back at my mansion in the human world, I would spend the rest of my time playing video games, reading manga, or watching anime. (That is, when I am feeling lazy and I don't want to do some advanced studying which is often. It doesn't affect my grades so, I don't mind.)

"E-eh? What's up with the look, Merielle?" Levi asked.

I blinked and turned back to the computer, feeling my cheeks burning up again. How many times did that happen today?!

I could feel Levi staring hard at me.

"Your cheeks are red, Merielle. Are you feeling well?" Levi asked.

     "I-I... I'm..."

     *Knock!* *Knock!* *Knock!*

"Wait up," Levi said as he stood up and went to get the door.

I sighed with relief as I thanked whoever is who knocked on the door mentally.

"Oh, Beel!" I heard Levi said.

"Is Merielle here, Levi?" I head Beel ask.

"Yep! We are playing the 5V5 Demon Battle!" Levi answered excitedly. "We are just about to get in on another round."

"Ah," I heard Beel said. He sounds sad.

"Is there something wrong, Beel?" Levi asked, concerned.

"B-but... but Merielle promised!" I heard Beel cried.

     My eyes widened at that.

What did I promise to Beel?

I turned around and faced the door and saw that Levi slightly opened the door while looking at me, revealing a sad-faced Beel who is also looking at me.

Oh, no! How could I forget? Is it really that time already?

I slapped my face mentally, "Of course it is! That is why Beel has been looking for me."
