Chapter 41: Asmo's Date

MERIELLE'S POV

     A few days had gone by after that bunny incident. Everything went normally.

     And by normally... I meant that there is a war every day in that mostly lasts for two to three hours.

     There was Asmodeus accidentally eating Beelzebub's cheeseburger. Beel chased him around the House of Lamentation until he finally agreed to Asmo's deal that he would buy him one immediately.

     Then, there's Mammon failing our last exam. Lucifer found out about it and punished him. The next place he went to after his punishment is my room. He asked me to treat his wounds, cuts, and burns. I didn't dare ask about his punishment. 

     Even I am not exempted from the troubles they caused.

     Levi stayed in my room for three days and two nights last week after he filled his room with boxes of Ruri-chan merchandise. Lucifer scolded him, but muttered that it was better than the last time. 

     "Last time, he practically filled the whole House of Lamentation with boxes of those junk foods. Those junks were too many that we couldn't eat all of them that we had them distributed to RAD students," Lucifer muttered.

     Levi just moved back to his room the other day.

     Mammon got jealous after that and he stayed in my room for the night. He was upset and told me that he was my 'first' and if there is anyone who should be staying with me for the night, it has to be him. Him telling me that he was my first got me confused for a second. Not until Asmo swooped in on our conversation in the halls of the House (he was eavesdropping) and gave Mammon a hit on his head. 

     "He meant, the first demon that made a pact with you, Merielle," Asmo said with a smile. "We told him tons of times to make it clearer."

     And right now, as I walked towards the House of Lamention from RAD with Mammon by my side, I have a bad feeling that another trouble is brewing in.

     "Seems like that Asmo's got another date, huh?" Mammon said as he, too, stared at Asmo from across the street, continuously flirting with a witch.

     "He is the avatar of lust. It is in his job description," I said as I watched him pull the witch towards a cafe. They took a seat next to the window.

     Now, I could study the witch's features.

     While storybooks tell us that witches have ghastly, pockmarked faces, wrinkled (and sometimes pale or green) skin, yellow, gapped teeth, a hunched back, frizzy hair and whatever more what evil looks like, this witch is different.

     The witch that is having a date with Asmo right now has flowy, flame-red hair, flawless skin, and small lips in red lipstick. Her eyes are glowing green like the eyes of a snake. Feels like it could entrance anyone, really. Apparently, including Asmo himself.

     "She looks beautiful. Asmo is so lucky to have a date with her," I muttered.

     "Let Asmo keep her, then," Mammon said as he gripped my waist and pulled me away.

     Not too long after that, Mammon and I arrived at the House of Lamentation where we are greeted by the eldest of the elite demon brothers: Lucifer.

     "You two finally arrived," he said. "I was expecting that Asmodeus is with you two."

     "He is on a date," Mammon replied.

     "I see," Lucifer simply responded.

     Just then, our D.D.D.s rang with the same message on the group chat from Asmodeus.

Asmodeus

Please do not wait for me for dinner. I will be home late.

     "I wonder why this date has to go late?" I asked after reading the message.

     Mammon shook his head. "Ya sure 'ya wanna know?"

     Lucifer frowned and lowered his head. "I am sure that I don't want to know. Although I have my guess."

     "Asmo bein' Asmo, yeah?" Mammon said as he faced Lucifer.

     Lucifer let out a loud sigh. "Just as long as it doesn't cause us much trouble.

     Why do I feel like something wrong is going on?
