Chapter 04: Reach

Tito Mike became worried and shocked at the same time. Tss, he shouldn't be surprised that I planned to end my life after what happened, and he should have the conclusion already.

I rolled my eyes and glared at Desmond, who's busy talking to my uncle. If only my look could kill, he would have buried in the ground earlier. He shouldn't have said that, and he just made the situation worse.

"Thank you so much for saving Eliza," a weak laugh escaped to me, the reason why I got their attention. He shouldn't thank that policeman for saving me because I want myself to be dead, and it irritates me that those two interfered with my plans.

"What's your name, hijo?"

My teeth chattered as I imagined the feeling of holding it, and as my eyes were fixed to the gun, the memories crushed my sanity again, making me gasped.

The day I held a gun was when I was eighteen. I shot my father, and he was drowned in his blood, but I was just there, sitting and not blinking, looking at his dead body. That time, tears were locked in my eyes as if I don't need to cry because he's already dead and he won't hurt me anymore.

My hands started to shake to an odd rhythm as if it's longing to touch the gun. That trauma keeps haunting me, and even though I'm still alive, I could feel that I'm barely breathing.

"Fuck," I cursed when I heard the sound of the gun playing in my head. I covered my ears and shut my eyes, wishing the trauma would stop pestering me. Whatever I do, there will be an action that will trigger what I did last eight years ago, and it looks like I will carry it until I die.

"Eliza, are you okay?" Tito Mike asked and held my arm to check my face, but I feel like I became numb in front of him.

"Thank you, Police Inspector Miliano," my uncle thanked Desmond and then grabbed my arm to stand up, but I used the remaining strength to resist, and I saw his brows furrowed.
