Chapter 28: Advantage
Morde's POV
"Morde, you're supposed to play with your cousins. It's better if you will stop reading those books for a while," my uncle said and tried to get the books that I'm reading, but I refused to give them to him.
He chuckled as he saw that I tightened the grip on the book. I would rather read a book than play games with my cousins with their robots and barbie toys. Well, I don't hate toys, it's just that I prefer reading and learning.
"This is a family reunion. You're supposed to play with your cousins. Come on, don't be stuck on those books you have. Your eyes might hurt." He kept on forcing me to play with my cousins younger than me, but I shook my head, refusing to play with them.
I'm ten years old, and I already have the right to have my own business.
I think he's not aware that I'm this kind of kid, unlike his children, who only know how to whine and spoil.
Lima sila magkakapatid.
"Tito, I just want to read books. I'm enjoying this rather than playing with my cousins, who are younger than me. If they are going to read this, I'm sure they won't get it."
Even though I'm just ten years old, I'm aware of my surroundings. I'm more into riddles and crime investigating. Sometimes my history videos are full of riddles and detective history, which is why Mom scolded me and said that I was still too young to watch those kinds of videos.
Maybe she's worried that I'm growing fast, unlike my cousins who are into tea parties and toys.
"Ano ba 'yang binabasa mo?'' He looked at what I'm reading, and his jaw almost dropped.
What's wrong with the one that I'm reading? The book is colored red, and it has gold lettering on it. I enjoy reading this because of the details and terms.
"What the hell...
