Chapter 29: Silent

Morde's POV

"It's your best friend's wedding, but why are you cold and grumpy, Morde?" my mom asked while fixing my bow tie.

I groaned when I felt that she tightened the tie on my neck. "Why are you quiet there? Are you sad because Desmond will be ahead of you to get married?"

I rolled my eyes. It's not even a real wedding. I thought the wedding would be canceled because of what happened, but I was wrong, and here I am, being the best man and not the groom.

My mom is already dressed and also my father, who will also attend Desmond's wedding. It feels like I don't want to go to the wedding, but I have to because my friend is expecting me to come.

"Stop rushing me, Mom.

I dreamed of myself as Eliza's groom, but it ends up that my best friend will marry the woman I loved. Eliza chose to put herself in a relationship that is full of pretending instead of being true.

I sighed and looked at the mirror, trying to gain my sense. I should stop being grumpy because it's Desmond's wedding, and I know he wouldn't like that I'm being cold and intimidating to the visitors.

I know that Desmond is in love with Eliza, and so I am. We fell for the same women, and even if I avoid it just for his sake, I still can't stop it. I was longing for Eliza but it looks like I have to control myself.

Her surname will change into Miliano and not mine. The woman who I dreamed of being married to me will take her vows with another man.

Focus, Morde. Please don't do this to yourself. You don't want to hurt your friend, right?

A sigh escaped from me as I left the room.
