Reunion

As they neared, Flo spotted Speirs watching from the gate, to Flo he visibly relaxed when he saw her. Her mind had been racing with thoughts about him in a ditch, so she was sure she visibly relaxed as well. He had seen the stretchers and guessed what she had done, as they passed, they all nodded and Flo said quick "Hi, sir" and a smile.

Speirs then let the first 3 pass then grabbed Flo's arm, "I know what you did and I thought we said no heroics"

Flo just shrugged and said "I'll discuss it with you later Ronnie"

He smiled and let her go on.

When she finally found Easy company they all stopped to take in their girl, she looked terrible. She had bruise marks on her neck, her OD's were covered in blood and mud, as was her face, hands and hair. But her sparkly green eyes shined and so did her smile.

Then they all flew at her and hugged her so tight she couldn't breathe.

"We were so worried, never do that to us again" Bill pretty much shouted

"Yeah, our hearts can't take it" Malark said with a cheeky smile

"Never mind about me, are all of you okay?" she asked visibly scanning all of them

"We're fine Fizz, Popeye got shot in the butt, and Lorraine died when we had to disable these guns. You should have seen us Fizz you would have been so proud" Perco said

She laughed, "I'm sure I would have been, is Pop okay? I'll go check on him" she said standing up, only to be immediately pulled back down by bull

"You look like you need a rest Fizzy" he said, "You should have seen what happened at the end, Lt Speirs and some of Dog come in with extra ammo and then Speirs basically takes the 4th gun by himself"

"Really," she said smiling but inside she was working up a lecture to give him when she saw him next

"Yeah he also shot 20 German prisoners by himself, gave them a smoke, then shot them" Smokey said almost in awe

Flo frowned, that didn't sound like Ron to her, she would ask him later.

"Did we lose anyone else in the jump?" she asked

They all looked down till Webster spoke up "No ones heard about Lt Meehan, they think his plane got bombed"

"Oh, so Winters is in charge," she asked and they all nodded, "Right, well I'm going to go inform him the 4 of us are alive and then go to the aid station, I'll see you later boys", then she was gone.

"Do you know what happened to her throat?" asked Joe

"We erm, ran into some trouble and while me, Skinny and Tab were fighting, this German choked her. You should have seen her, he almost killed her, but she kicked him in the back of his head". The boys looked shocked. They then all vowed to themselves never to let a German get his hands on her again.

"How did she get the cut on her cheek?" Chuck asked

"She crawled through enemy fire to get to these injured men, a bullet scraped her cheek" Tab replied

"Bloody hell, she's got more fizz in her that I bargained for" replied Lip

Flo knocked on the door to Winters office and with a swift "Enter" she came in and saw the man and Nix.

She immediately ran to Nix and gave him a huge hug, "Hey Flossy, you look rough, miss the dropzone?" he asked sarcastically. She gave him a push.

"Yeah just a tad, I proper nailed the landing mind, landed in water" she laughed

"Sounds like and from the look of you, you had an eventful D-Day" smiled Winters as he came round the desk and hugged her.

She explained the story, to which Winters replied "Go and get your cut taken care of by Doc, we're moving out soon"

"Ahh lucky me" she smiled and said a quick see you later.

When she was walking out the building, Speirs suddenly popped out of a room and pulled her in. Shutting and locking the door he turned to her.

"You know there are easier ways to get me into a room Lt" she laughed, as he wrapped his arms around her

"Do you know how worried I was, when a day and half passed and you hadn't turned up" he mumbled into her neck, then pulled back and inspected her cheek wound. She grabbed his hand that was holding her face and kissed it.

"Before you go giving me any lectures by the way, I heard you took a 4 man German gun by yourself" she smiled, as he shook his head and laughed.

"I didn't do it by myself, I had help"

"Hmmm" she replied, "Why don't i really believe you" she smiled. Then she hugged him again, "I don't know why i was worried about you being dead in a ditch somewhere, with that total disregard for your safety"

"I've got your lucky horse, how could i fail" he smiled which made her laugh

"I've got to go round up my men, I don't know when I'll see you again" he whispered.

"I've got to go get my cheek sorted, and soon. You'll see me soon" she replied then on her way to the door she stopped and turned around.

"Did you really kill those Germans?"

"I'm not gonna deny or confirm it"

"Even for me?"

"Even for you"

They smiled at each other once more and separated.

Flo made her way to the aid station smiling at all the men she passed on her way, once she reached the aid station she saw it was full of men. She asked on her way down if any of them needed anything, but they all said they were fine for now.

"Doc, I believe I am in need of medical assistance" she laughed as she watched gene whip around, smile the largest smile she had seen and come and hug her tightly.

"Thank God" he kept repeating

"Gene, I'm fine, I just need you to have a look at my cheek" she said smiling happily

"Of course Floss" she explained the story of what had happened while he was fixing her up.

After the story, he hugged her and said "I know it will be hard, but please don't be that reckless again".

"I'll try, I promise" she smiled into him.

"Easy's moving out! On your feet." Harry Welsh shouted
