Never in his life was he humiliated like this, definitely not by a woman. As hard as it was for him to digest the fact, he was more frustrated by how Meghan was never intimidated by him, let alone respect him. He just did not want to agree for a fact that he was wrong, he had crossed a line, unintentionally but never the less a line.
As soon as Meghan had left the cabin, Wilson stood blank in the office, trying to compose himself. Diana had left the boutique crying and Caleb was restlessly waiting for Wilson to come out, not knowing what was taking him so long.

After a few beats, Wilson made his way out, his eyes scanning the place for any trace of her and when he did not spot her, he left with Caleb, leaving everyone else confused.

''Man, what was wrong with you, why are you always cross with Meghan. You know she had nothing to do with Diana, yet..'', Caleb was stopped midway between his lecture.

''She slapped me'', Wilson looked away.

''She what?'', Caleb's jaw dropped on the floor.

''Can you come again for me?'', Caleb clenched his stomach which ached from laughing so hard.

''Oh, just shut up. Not like you did not hear it'', Wilson had his fists clenched, trying to find stability.

''What the fuck man, what did you do!'', Caleb for a fact knew how much of an arse Wilson was, no one liked his behavior, they just dealt with it.

''She cut me off mid conversation, I was angry, she pulled away, I pulled her back'', Wilson played the event at the boutique like a reel of film, some parts flashy more than others.

''To?'', Caleb smirked.

''I don't know maybe to kiss her'', the penny dropped.

''You what, sweetheart you know right she has connections with the media, one scandal and you're ruined'', Caleb couldn't believe what he was hearing.

''Not like I did'', Wilson shrugged. He too realized it was a very stupid mistake. A media scandal, that too with days before his wedding would not only ruin his game plan but also his image more than it already was. Everyone in the town knew that he was a womanizer and for those who dint, tabloids were more than happy to help. The rest of the car ride was fairly quiet yet somehow Wilson could not get rid of his thoughts circulating around Meghan.

Meghan had gulped down at least 3 bottles of cold water or so, Steve counted.

''Meghan what's wrong, did he say something, did he do something!'', Steve walked towards Meghan who now had her hands on her head.

A tear left Meghan's eyes as she tried hard to relax herself.

''Shit, Meghan tell me what did he do, we can get him down now, I can run a few calls to my friends in the press'', Steve looked worried.

''No, just no, he tried to touch me, I slapped him, let it be please'', It had been ages since a man had ever touched Meghan this way, forcefully, disgustingly, to satisfy his ego. She hated this feeling of being dominated by men who thought they ran the world.

''Meghan look I know what this means to you, trust me just one call and'', Steve sympathized  with Meghan's internal battle.

''No Steve, forget it let's just go grab something to eat, and we need to come back early tomorrow to wrap things up here'', Meghan pushed her chair away and reached out for her clutch.

''You sure you want to attend his wedding, we could always say no!'', Steve asked concerned.

''Of course yes, I'm not the one kissing women  days before my wedding, what should I be ashamed of'', and with this Steve knew his fighter, Meghan was back.
