Chapter 50

| This is too sudden, I'm telling you this is too sudden! |

"Feng-er?"

I can hear the tension in his voice and I smiled. That's right you mongrel, you should be fearing what awaits your right now. How dare you do this to me without any notice?!

"Be careful on your way here okay? I don't want you to be hurt" yet.

I heard him sigh, well, sigh all you want. You're not gonna do that after you set foot here in your home.

"I won't, I'll be there in just thirty minutes, I promise"

"Bye"

I simply said then hang up the phone before he could say anything. I have my phone to the frowning Shu Jian and saw the curiosity in her eyes.

"What?"

"You- why didn't you get angry at him?" She asked tinged with confusion.

Heh, she's still a child after all, she couldn't hide her anger that very well then.

Just because I didn't get angry at him doesn't mean that I'm not. I'm just waiting for the right time, after all revenge is better serves cold.

"One should always be patient, as they say, no pain no gain" I winked at her before preparing myself for another battle.

Just because I have passed the other adversity doesn't mean that it'll pass again. When adversity comes, receive it favorably as they say.

Not after long my statement, two middle age couples appeared in front of my two eyes. One was a young looking middle age woman exuding elegance while walking towards us with poised bearing. She looks like an empress from a historical drama, virtuous and kind yet her bearing was befitting of that of a woman in power.

The man on her side held her hand, his eyes were lit with vigor as he saunters his way to us with heavy steps. His whole figure was chiseled to perfection, exuding coldness and power.

"You must be Teacher Feng" she said with a voice enough to consider her a beauty.

"I-I am" I stuttered at her fairy like beauty, she looks fifty percent like Shu Jian and I imagined Shu Jian to look like her in the near future.

"Thank you for being a good teacher to her" she gently smiles and take my hand with her soft and supple one.

Well, their mother looks like she doesn't even have any work to do since her hand is so soft and supple. My hand was coarse from all the writing and I can imagine myself blushing from shame.

"Well... it's my job Mrs. Hao" I politely decline her kind words while she smiled in return.

"Mom! Let's have Teacher Feng with us to dinner!"

God, I want to pinch that naughty mouth of hers! What else would she recommend? For me to sleep here in their home, I won't do that! I'll die first!

"Um... I don't want to impose-"

"You won't, besides, I want to know about my daughter in law so let's head to the living room first" Ming Chen's father said abruptly making my heart beat lag for a moment.

Is- Is he serious?! Ming Chen! I'm gonna kill you after this! I really will!

The two females beside me didn't notice the troubled look on my face, maybe they did but they didn't want to argue with the decision. One was too timid enough to point out her wishes while the other was a black bellied person who loves seeing me in misery.

Great.

Soon, I find myself answering questions ranging from difficult to personal questions from Ming Chen's father. I wanted to weep out from his military like tone, it felt like I was being questioned if I was a spy and I had to avoid being deliberately vague and deflective with my answers lest I get beheaded.

I think I finally understood how men get super nervous when it comes to meeting their parents but what I don't get is why am I being questioned too! I thought it's only for men, right now, I don't want equality!

Ming Chen! Where are you right now?!

Disasters do not walk alone.

That's one thing I've learned today once I step foot into their home. One reason is that I was questioned for hours and was treated like a prison, second things is that I don't even know why I'm here and how I got here!

The third and most important of all is that I was left alone, without the person who brought me here which is Shu Jian and without the person I thought I'm gonna face this meeting with which is Ming Chen!

Argh! I'm feel like I'm becoming crazy!

"Feng Mian!"

Finally! After long torturous hours of questioning on the innocent me, I was finally pardoned!

I look behind me and saw Ming Chen with his forehead full of sweat, smudges of makeup was seen dripping on his cheek while he ran up to me.

"Feng-er, you okay? Old man! How can you do this to a weak and innocent woman! Don't tell me you're going to break us apart because I'm not agreeing with you, ever! I'm leaving this house and I won't be coming ba-"

"Don't you dare you stupid unfilial son!" Ming Chen's father roared and I was soon swept by their intense fight.

"Then why are you doing this to us? Why are you opposing our relationship?! Do you really love to see me suffer?!" He looks so agitated and angry that it made my heart hurt.

His father heave in anger, I can see the veins in his head pulsing in rage so I hold Ming Chen's hand and calm him down.

It feels like their father and son relationship is strained and I don't know the reason why.

"Don't be so harsh to your father, he didn't do anything and just asked me some questions" I slowly said as I continue to draw circles on his palm to call him down.

It did take affect and he was soon sighing, I look at him in distress but continued to hold his hands. I know there's a lot of things that I don't know about Ming Chen. There's a lot of time to learn more about him too so it's fine, I can wait for him to say it himself.

"I'm not opposing- hah, just go" Ming Chen's father waved his hand before slumping down on his seat, his whole countenance tired from the fight.

I look towards Ming Chen and see him looking worried to his father so I decided for them to have a talk before leaving this room with their hearts tangled up in repressed emotions.

"Go and talk to your father, I'll wait for you" I kissed his cheek and smile before leaving the room.

When I closed the door, Shu Jian's mother came up to me with a troubled smile. She looks nothing alike Ming Chen, so I decided to follow her and listen to her thoughts.

Welp, that was heavy. Anyways, my eyelids are also heavy. I want to sleep but online class is a must, ugh! I want to sleep!
