(Sam's POV)
It's been 3 days since we got back from Bali and Em and I have just been trying to pass the time without thinking about my current situation. We both know that this is going to affect how much time I play this year, or even if I get to play at all. Today we have a meeting with Teague and 2 of the doctors to finally figure out what has happened with my leg and figure out how much time I'm going to miss.
The sound of my alarm fills the room. I roll over to see a peaceful Emily sleeping away. I watch her as her eyelids flutter.
"Are you just going to stare at me this entire time" Em asks
"Sorry, I thought you were sleeping" I replied back. Em doesnt say anything, she just brings her body closer to me and snuggles her head between my shoulder and neck.
"Can we stay like this forever" I say
"Nope, we've got your meeting with Teague today" Em says
"But what if I don't want to find out what's happened with my leg" I respond
"Sam, the more we understand what has happened with your leg, the quicker we can start physio and get you better so you can play" she says
"I know I know, I just don't want to find out that its worn than we suspected" I say
"Don't worry, it won't be and remember, since you will have to do physio everyday, means we get to spend more time together" Em says
"I love you" I say as I give her a kiss
"I love you too' she says
It has become so normal to say those 8 letters!
"We better get out of bed" she says
"No, we are staying here forever" I say, taking her in my arms and holding her like my life depends on it.
(Em's POV)
I try to break out of Sam's group but he's too strong.
"Sam, let go" I say
"Never, we are staying here for the rest of the day" he replies
"Sam you know we can't stay here" I say
"Yes we can" he says
"Says who" I respond
"ME" Sam says
He starts to tickle me and I start to squirm and the room fills with laughter.
"What on earth are you doing" Zac says barging into my room
"Nothing" I say
"Well, you sure sound like something was going on. Well, you guys need to leave in 30 minutes to meet Teague, I just came in to see if you guys were awake" Zac says
"Thanks, Zac" I say and he walks out of my room
"Okay, we really need to get ready now" I say getting out of my bed and rush over to Sam to help him with his crutches.
"Your brother is really a mood killer" he says
"Do you want my help" I say and cross my arms
"Yes yes" he says as I help him out of bed, head downstairs and eat breakfast.
20 minutes later we are in the car heading to Ikon. I can tell that Sam's nerves are rising more and more. I know that I can't change what is going to happen today, but I just hope I can calm his nerves.
"Everything is going to be okay, I'm gonna be with you the whole time" I say trying to calm his nerves
"I know, but I can't stop the nerves boiling up" he says shaking his one leg
"Whatever happens today we will get through this" I say
"I love you Emily" he says
"I love you Sam" I reply
"Emily, I love you, you have no idea how much, I would never be able to get through this without you" he says as the car comes to a stop
I turn to face him and say "Sam, I love you, we are going to get through thi-" but before I can finish his face meets mind and our lips connect, we stay like this for at least a good 30 seconds before we need to get going
"We need to get inside" I say
"Fine" he says as I get out of the car to help him and we head inside where we are greeted with Tegaue and the 2 main doctors; Chris and Melissa.
"Sam, we have received your scans from the doctor in Bali, but we would like to conduct a simple analysis of your injury" Mel says
"Okay, we will be back" Chris says, taking Sam into the rooms
"Everything is going to be okay Emily" David says to me
"Thank you coach" I say back
30 minutes later go by and they still haven't come back. I immediately start to think the worst. What happens if they find something, something worse. What if Sam is actually out for the whole season. I hear the sound of his crutches and I shoot up.
"Is everything okay" I ask him
"I don't know, they haven't told me anything" he replies
"What's the verdict" David says
"Let's sit down first" Chris responds, as we go and take a seat at the cafe
"We've got good and some not so good news" Chris says
