Goodbye

--Y/n's POV--

"No enemies in sight, Let's head out!" Emma signals me, I repeat it by signaling Ray who signals the rest of the kids. We follow Sonju's lead through the forest quietly and carefully without any bold moves just like he taught us. We have been learning crucial survival skills on this six days. Skills we would have never survived without, we were finally leaving the forest to make our way to B06-32 and part ways from our newly found allies- no, friends.

Once we finally saw the end of the forest, a vast dessert began to appear, Sonju points ahead, "Keep heading Southward to arrive to your destination" He tells us (Sonju is a better map than Google-), Emma and I smile to each other confidently before hearing the kids' complains. I walk to their direction to see what was happening and immediately understand it. "Noooo! Mujikaa!" "I don't wanna say goodbye!" "Can't you stay with us a little longer?" They sob, I smile at them sadly and kneel to their level. "Remember, Mujika and Sonju also have places to go. The least we can do to thank them for all their help is to send them with a smile, right?" I say softly while caressing Alicia and Mark's cheeks to dry their tears, they nod sadly.

Ray pats their heads. "Stay strong." Ray told them, "Ray..." Alicia whimpers, "We have to be strong to survive on our own." Ray adds. "Don't worry, as long as you stay out here you won't run into any more 'demons'. If all goes well, you'll probably be with this 'Minerva' guy." He tells Alicia and Mark reassuringly before turning to look at Nat, Lanni, and Thoma. "No matter what you do, don't ever stray back into the forest or go near any body of water. Understood?" He sharply tells them which causes them to tremble and sharply salute back, "Y- Yes!" They stutter in unison, I lightly laugh at how Sonju can be so scary and soothing at the same time.

"Stay safe" He tells us while patting my head. "Thank you, Sonju." Ray says. They continue talking and I decide to walk over to where Mujika was. "Stay well please, all of you" She tells Emma before pulling away from their hug and turns to look at me. She walks closer and grabs my hands, I feel her place something in one of them. "...Mujika?" I ask her confused, SHe moves one of her fingers closer to her mouth before saying, "This will serve as a good luck charm in your journey, I'm confident it will keep you all safe." She tells me before pulling me onto a hug, "Look for the Seven walls. The future you all are heading towards lies beyond this point." She says before pulling away.

I was about to open my mouth to say something but get interrupted by Ray calling my name, "Ready, Y/n?" He calls, "Yeah! Give me just a second!" I shout back, Mujika smiles at me and I pull her into one last hug before walking toward Ray and Emma. 

--3rd person POV--

"Bye Mujika, Bye Sonju!" "Thank you so much for everything!" Emma and Y/n shouted as the group of children began to distance from the two 'demons' while waving. Sonju smirks, "You've ended up growing quite attached." Sonju comments, Mujika's smile dropped. "You were so different at first." He adds.

--Flashback--

Mujika stared at the human children come out of the tree's cave with curiosity from behind a tree. She jumps closer to Sonju and reports it, "Humans. I think, one of them looks like an Ancient. They are probably the escapees that we've been told about. If we capture them and return them to the farm, we'd have an easy life for the next six months." Mujika tells the much taller 'demon'. His smirk widens before turning around, Mujika stared at Sonju confused. "Sonju?" She asks tilting her head. 

"I'm going to save them. I won't let the farm have them back." He replies before walking away.

--End of Flashback--

"You're the one to speak, Sonju. You definitely didn't save those kids out of curiosity, what is your true motive? Tell me honestly." Mujika demands. Sonju stays quiet for a few seconds, "That 'Promise'... It can't be broken by anyone other than humans. Don't you hate it? That stupid 'Promise'... It screwed with relationships, race and society itself... But Y/n and those kids might be the ones to destroy it. Then there might be one day when we can hunt humans once more!" Sonju  says.
