Chapter 26: Nami's weird

A few days before examination week. Y/N was busy reading her lecture notes and taking important details to mind. She glanced at the clock and noticed that she still have to prepare dinner.

"I'll leave this for a moment."

She went out of her room and headed to the kitchen. On her way, Y/N came face to face with Nami and she lightly flinched.

"Wah -Nami "

Nami side stepped before Y/N could start a conversation. She went to her room and Y/N could only stare at her retreating figure

Aki saw the exchange and she just continued viewing some magazines

"Nami.. " Y/N sighed.

"How long will she act like this?"

After making dinner, Y/N entered the living room to inform the other girls.

"Aki-nee, Dinner is ready-

Y/N stopped when she saw Aki talking on the phone.

"Understood. I will be there in no time. Yeah, don't worry. Just leave it to me."

Aki ended the call and she grabbed her coat

"Where are you going, Aki-nee?"

"My friend got sick and she asked me to work in her place. I think I will get home late so go to sleep on time, okay?"

Y/N hummed in response

"And before I forget, make up with Nami too."

"Eh?"

Aki met Y/N's gaze and she spoke in slight worry

"You two seem to act a little strange lately. Did you two have a fight?"

"Oh.. you can say that it's something like that." Y/N diverted her gaze for a moment

"Hm. That's okay. I'm sure you guys can make up." Aki put on her sandals. "I'm leaving now."

"Have a safe trip."

Y/N released a sigh after Aki left. She glanced at Nami's door and decided to eat dinner ahead of her.

When she finished, she was surprised to see Nami laying on the couch. The girl had a magazine covering her face and Y/N debated on calling out to her. Due to Aki's reminder, Y/N shrugged off her worries

"Um.. Nami..."

Y/N was met by silence and she sighed internally.

"Seems like she's still ignoring me."

"What is it?" Y/N blinked in surprise once Nami responded

"Ah- Dinner is in the kitchen. I left some for you since you haven't eaten yet."

"I see...."

"I'm retiring to my room now."

After Y/N left, Nami removed the magazine covering her face. She stared at the space in front of as her thoughts flashed once again

Y/N was dozing off until she felt someone laying on the other side of the bed

"Wah- Nami."

" Don't turn around." spoke Nami before Y/N could face her. She was facing the opposite side of the room and her back was facing Y/N

"Okay..." Y/N laid back and grew confused on Nami's actions.

"Y/N."

"What is it?"

"Do you remember when you first arrived in the household? I was mean to you and would treat you indifferently." Nami continued. "I would scatter your things and make up stories about you."

"Oh.. that." Y/N contemplated. "I don't really remember the full details. Why are you telling me these right now?"

" No reason.."

Silence fell between them and Nami's next words brought a slight tension

"Back then... when I was doing that to you.. do you hate me for it?"

" Um.. that was -

"Just say it."

Y/N pondered on the question and she became uneasy.

"That accidental event.. I wasn't really expecting that.. and I know that it was wrong since we are sisters.. but how was that different from what I am doing with Aki-nee? And why is it.. that I'm fine with it as long as it is with Aki-nee.. but not with Nami?"

"No.. I don't really hate you for it." replied Y/N in a low tone. "I was just shocked.. and scared of you because you have been acting strange."

"I see...."

Nami turned around and hugged Y/N from behind. Y/N's eyes widened in surprise

"Nami?"

"Let's do it again."

"Huh?"

"I don't really understand.. but ever since that time, I've been feeling strange. So.."

Nami's hand trailed downwards until it rested on Y/N's center

"N-Nami. We can't do that-

"If you refuse me, I'm really gonna make this disappear." Nami cupped Y/N's center and the latter gasped

"D-Don't threaten me like that!"

"Just kidding." Nami snickered and released her hold of Y/N. She went back to the other side of the bed.

Y/N blinked and she snapped her gaze to Nami's direction.

"Nami.. you're really weird."

"So I've been told." replied Nami in a stoic tone.

Y/N shifted her gaze forward and decided to voice her doubts. Nami's strange behavior was making her worry and Y/N guessed that it has something to do with Kana

"Nami."

"What?"

"Um.." Y/N hesitated for a bit. "Nami is... Nami. You know."

Nami raised her brow

"Huh? What are you talking about, you idiot. Of course I am."

"Ah- Right.. I see."

" What are you babbling about?" Y/N flinched at Nami's demanding tone. "Just ask what you wanted to ask already."

"Um.. Nami."

"What?" Y/N backed away when Nami sat upright.

"Sorry sorry. Okay here goes." Y/N released a sigh. "Can I ask you something without you possibly biting my head off?"

Nami raised her brow and Y/N laughed nervously.

"What is it this time?"

"Sumiya-san." Nami flinched at the name and Y/N noticed her reaction.

"You like Sumiya-san.. Don't you, Nami?"

Nami went silent and she slowly rose from the bed. Y/N observed her actions and called her out when she reached the doorway

"Nami-

"Just go to sleep, idiot..."

*(Door Closes)*

Nami leaned on the closed door and sighed

"Y/N.. Idiot as always. Why do you have to point it out?"
