I took a step back from my podium and walked throughout mismanaged mess that was the 'background' of the trial room. I suddenly heard a sharp "Wait" Come from behind me and I turned around to see...maki "maki? What do you need?" "Oh.....I just found a telephone and something was speaking through it so I wanted you to check it out" Maki said as she glared at me....normally i would've just did it without question but.....i need to stand up for myself,I don't want to be a pathetic push over my whole life....."j....just because it's creepy doesn't mean it's anything paranormal it could just be old or broken or......old and broken" Maki's glare got more intense as she messed with her blue tie "and what if it is paranormal? I'm not getting possessed" My eyes widened "You're offering me as a sacrifice!?" I exclamed "You're putting words in my mouth!" "Im sorry I just don't want to get possessed, get over it!" "What did you just say to me" It was silent for a moment with nothing for me to do except regret my words

"I-i'll do it" I mumbled as I looked down "that's what I thought, this way" Maki said as she grabbed my wrist and started pulling me forwards. She continued dragging me around until we reached a strange storage room of sorts where I saw a telephone sitting on a table....it was ringing....maybe someone from the outside figured out how to call us! We're going to be saved! No more deaths are going to happen! I'm so happy! I picked up the phone with a smile "hello?" I heard silence for a moment before another voice came on the phone "....h-hello? I can't believe I got this to work! Is anyone there?"

"H-hello! Yes, um m-my name is kokichi ouma and I'm with Maki harukawa we are stuck in a killing game and we need help PLEASE!" "A killing game? Please tell me that no one has died yet" Im surprised he actually believed me instead of accusing me of being crazy "a-actually.....ten have died and two are wounded" I heard a sigh before the voice came back "okay....my name is makoto naegi, I'm from future foundation and we can help you where is the killing game taking place" Makoto asked "uh the ultimate academy for gifted juveniles....." "Okay I'm sending people over to rescue you all stay calm and try to make sure no more deaths occur" Makoto said. I smiled happily "Okay th-thank you thank you so much" "You're welcome" And then he hung up

"so....what did it say" Maki said once I set the phone down. I looked at her with a smile and hugged her as tightly as I could "we're saved maki!" I said as I jumped with joy which shook Maki up thoroughly "Oh how lucky.....i can't breathe you're holding me too tight" "O-oh sorry" I gently let her go. Is this hope?.....hope feels amazing "we should go tell the others you tell rantaro and himiko and I'll tell kiibo" Maki said. I nodded and then rushed to find rantaro....but then I heard choking and gasping for air. What the hell? Then I heard someone say "h...hel...p m....e" And that was when I ran towards the direction of the strange noises. I eventually found the source of the noise but the door was locked WONDERFULL. well now what? I can't pick locks and someone could be dying in there! I looked around for a moment before decideing to try and break the door down. I tried my best, throwing kick after kick at the door and it eventually broke off of its hinges....

But it was all worthless

I couldn't do it

I couldn't save him....

Rantaro was hanging in front of my eyes.....for a moment i thought that he hung himself but I noticed that it looked like he was frantically trying to untie it before he died, his fingertips were covered in blood from scratching at the rope and -HOLY SHIT DID SOME OF HIS FINGERNAILS COME OFF FROM THAT?!.....eugh....i don't think it was suicide. He was still gripping the rope around his neck tightly with his cold, dead, hands.....i didn't know what to say. Who am I kidding- there was nothing to be said he was hung by someone....and i could have saved him if I was a little faster.....just when I gained hope I lost it just as quickly

*ding dong dong ding*

"A body has been discovered! Now then after a certain amount of time that you can spend doing whatever you want a class trial will begin!"

I slowly approached the hanging body of my friend and wiped the tears off of his face gingerly. I'm sorry rantaro....i hope that I can make it up to you....
