"Is mom back?" I ask Chase and Cairo looking at them weirdly.

"No. I think she's planning to cut her trip short since told her we're home. She should be back by the end of the week or sometime next week."  Cairo answers while picking up my luggage to take upstairs to my room.

Oh I must be crazy then. I could have almost sworn I heard the shower running a minute ago. I might be going crazy.

As soon as we are up the stairs, the bathroom door flies open.

"Hey Chase! You got any razors bro?"

I stop and turn in the direction of the bathroom door at the other end of the hall next to the guestroom.

Did the stranger just call my brother bro?

Mom has another child?

When my father married Linda, I became jealous because I thought he wouldn't love me or have time for me anymore since it was her and her two kids. I was just used to having him all to myself. But after Linda moved in she treated me better than my own mother ever did and I instantly bonded with the boys. They adored my father, since theirs left when they were little and started another family, completely forgetting them. My father never had any sons as I was the only child, so he accepted them with open arms. Shortly after they started to call him dad. After my abuse I would have nightmares almost every night. Dad stopped coming to calm me and Linda took his place. She talked me through them. Comforted me and loved me. A year later they stopped. I figured then that she more than deserved to be call mom. I was scared to at first because the last woman I called mom was weak! Weak to do better, weak to want better for herself, weak to defend herself and too weak minded to protect me like she should. But Linda I couldn't deny, she worked her way into my heart. And my father never loved me any less. I think he even loved me more after being married.
