The familiar feeling hit her again.
At times like this, she wished she could just disappear from this cruel world. It was all because of Mina, she brought up some things about Chaeyoung.
And now she's standing alone in the rooftop of her school, feeling the cold winter breeze hit her, sending shivers down her spine.
"What are you doing here, airhead?" A voice said, startling her.
She turned around, seeing him standing there with his usual monotone look. Yerin flashed him a small smile, shaking her head. "Just, something."
"Tch, sure."
Yerin rolled her eyes, playfully hitting his shoulder. He smiled at her, giving her butterflie. She looked away from him, feeling her cheeks heat up.
"Why are you here anyways?"
"I asked you that first, answer me first then I'll answer you." He cockily said, smirking at her.
Yerin rolled her eyes, chuckling lightly. "You're so annoying."
"Says the one who keeps on pestering me everyday."
Yerin fiddled with her fingers, pursing her lips. She sighed, hating what Mina said to her earlier.
"It's Mina, she said some things about Chaeyoung."
Jisung stayed quiet for a while before saying, "do you want me to kill her?"
Yerin opened her mouth agape, knowing how fully capable he is of doing that. "What- no!"
Jisung grinned, shaking his head as he stared at the girl beside him.
"Don't you miss him? Your best friend." Yerin suddenly asked and Jisung immediately knew who she was referring to. "I do,"
She turned her head to look at him, looking at his eyes glistening with the ghost of his past. What happened back then was indeed awful, too horrific to even imagine.
"Even until now I still miss him. But regrets are pointless, it's not good to dwell on such things for too long. Our life goes on, but we're still stuck in our past."
Yerin smiled, he's right. Even though it hurts it's bad to dwell on things like that, it won't do her any good. That's what she likes about him the most, his always seem to find the perfect word to comfort her.
"Jisung," she called.
Jisung hummed, looking at her with a fond smile, giving her butterflies.
She felt like all of her feelings are on the so close to the edge, but something kept her back from saying those simple words. Their eyes met and he could see her entire milky way in his eyes.
"I like you."
It took her quite a while to gain enough courage, this time she felt like it's the right moment to finally say it. It doesn't matter if he doesn't like her back, she just wanted him to know about her feelings.
Jisung stared at her with a blank expression, completely taken aback by her sudden confession. Yerin chuckled bitterly, looking away from him. "I know you don't like me back and you like Yuna and yeah she's nicer than me and—"
Jisung grinned at her before cupping her face, pulling her face closer to his, attaching their lips together. This time, it's not an accidental kiss. It took her quite a while to process everything.
Jisung wrapped his other hand around her waist, hugging her body tightly. Pulling away from her, he smiled at her. "You're rambling, love."
Yerin chuckled, looking at him shyly. "U-uh yeah?"
"Oh look at yourself, you look like a crab! What happened to the confident airhead Yerin?"
They both laughed, enjoying each other's presence.
"I like you too," He blurted out, getting shy as soon as those words came out of his mouth. "But I know you like me more."
Yerin scoffed. "Oh do I?"
"Of course you do. You were the one who gave me those notes. It doesn't matter though, as long as you're mine."
Yerin chuckled, looking at him with a huge smile plastered on her face. They both forgot that they're still at school, getting lost in each other's presence. Jisung curved his lips into a smile, ruffling Yerin's hair lightly as a gesture of affection.
He had never felt this way before, not even towards Yuna. It's a whole new experience for him, feeling a familiar tingling feeling inside of him whenever he's with her.
Yerin looked down, smiling as her cheeks began to blush. For the first time in his life, he finally pushed aside the anger and resentment inside of him.
They both spent their whole lifes running, but now they finally had the chance to rest, to fully enjoy life happily- together.
