Socha Na Tha ( part 1)

In the most posh area of karachi there stood a very big bunglow, a huge beautiful spanish style house overlooking the beach. It had three portions each having four rooms to be precise though many people did not live inside.
However beautiful the house was from outside, the lives of the residents was not as beautiful.
They struggled everyday like any other human.

It was called the AFANDI HOUSE.!

Mr and mrs afandi who were in their late 70's had three children.
Eldest son rashid who had two children named rafiq and laiba and they were living a good healthy life apart from some financial issues here and there because they had seemed to sell off lots of their inherited property but rafiq doing a job now and still living under the wings of their parents everything seemed fine.

Then they had a daughter gul who had along with her husband passed away many many years ago leaving their young daughter zunash to mr and mrs afandi. Well zunash had grown up to be a very beautiful and a civilised young lady.

And then their youngest son kamal who was a divorced man with a son named ariz. Mr kamal after his divorce with aliya rahim was mostly found out of city. He had started many buisnuises with the money he had inherited and was now making doubles. He would only fill the accounts of his son but never cared for him and hence ariz turned out to be a rebilious one. Now Ariz was the biggest trouble maker of the house. He was a total spoilt brat. Never listening to anyone.

Mr and mrs afandi were always and always very concerned about mr kamal and ariz kamal. But despite trying to put sense into both of them, none of them listened but atleast ariz stayed at afandi house and that was a relief for mrs afandi or dado as rafiq, laiba and ariz called her or nano as zunash called her.

Zunash was a very caring, beautiful and a very responsible young girl , she was a practicing doctor in a very reputed hospital of the city and was now turning 27 and hence her wedding was to take place next week with rafiq rashid who himself had scored a job very recently in an NGO firm. Rafiq was the eldest grandchild of the afandi house, hence very reserved and silent.

"Zuni beta sab sambhaal liya na tumne? Ab bus Rafiq kay sath designer tak chali jao or kapray uthalo, ab wakt hi kitna reh gaya hai?" Mrs afandi called zunash who was busy packing some of her stuff which was to be moved into rafiqs portion after wedding.
