'Kol bloody Mikaelson.' Astrid seemed absolutely frozen as she contemplated how long Kol had inhabited that body. 'Astrid listen to me.' Kol tried to walk towards her but she stepped back with every move he took. 'I- I have to go. Don't touch Davina till I get back.'

The hybrid ran out to Klaus who had just stuffed Mikael into the back of their car and he looked up concerned, 'Woah woah. What's going on?'

'Get in the car now!' Astrid ran straight passed him and into the passenger seat, slamming the door shut and taking one heavy breath. Her husband joined her in the driver seat and took her hand, 'Astrid? Come on, love you're worrying me.'

'That's not Kaleb.' She breathed with wide eyes  and Klaus's eyes turned to ice, 'Kol.' He went to get out of the car but Astrid grabbed him, 'Hey, we already have one Mikaelson to deal with, we can sort him out later.'

'Let me talk to him' Nik tried protesting again and Astrid resorted to pulling him back into the car by his sleeve, 'He hasn't followed this family for a millennia in the hope of killing the lot of us, has he?' Astrid took his face in the hope of calming him down, her nails running through his light brown hair and she smiled when she felt him lean into her. 'I know you're angry, so am I. Let's get this done okay?'

He smiled at her in awe, 'You always were good at calming my rages.' Nik took her hand from his hair and brought it down to his cheek, kissing it lightly. 'Yeah well' she trailed off and chuckled to herself, 'I've had a millennia of practice.'

She sat back in the passenger seat and he started the ignition, clasping her thigh and subconsciously feeling the need to take some dominance back. What the pair didn't realise was that Mikael had awoken with the Tunde blade still inside him and began to pull it out.

...

'What would we even do? Bury him? Nothing will hold him down.' Astrid contemplated as they drove back to the Quarter through the Bayou. 'Cement.' Nik stated plainly and Astrid laughed, 'Are you sure even that would hold him down?'

Suddenly, she was jolted forward when Klaus slammed on the breaks. Both hybrids had their mouths agape and Astrid's eyes flashed her nature in defence, Klaus still with a firm grip on her thigh and Astrid's hand still wrapped around his. The pair looked through the front mirror to see the blonde bartender staring back at them like a mother disappointed in her children.

When Astrid processed the situation, her nostrils flared and her jaw clenched as she swung the car door open. 'Camille bloody O'Connell!' Astrid barked as she stalked up to her with a tightened fist and Klaus followed closely behind. 'Where's Davina?'

The blonde seemed determined and she wasn't even phased by the fact that Klaus could've run her over. 'You could've died Camille!' Astrid carried on and Cami asked where Davina was once again. 'She's fine. She's at the cabin.' Nik tried to ease the tension.

The two women stared at each other for a moment before Astrid pulled her into a hug. Cami looked shocked but she eventually relaxed when she felt Astrid clasp the back of her head, a shaky hand lacing itself in her blonde curled hair. 'Never do that to me again.' Astrid mumbled and Cami smirked, 'Always knew you were a softie'

'Right.' Klaus noticed how long the hug was lasting and cut the tension, 'You put your things in the car Cami and Astrid and I will plan ahead.' Cami nodded and began to walk to the car and Astrid shouted after her, 'Don't go near the bloody boot!'  Cami turned and smiled before turning back to the car. Once she reached the silver door, a rustling noise drew her to the back of the vehicle and her curiosity got the better of her; not realising that the vampire Hunter was awaiting his moment.
