'I went to Marcel because I knew how you'd react!'

Davina tried to defend herself against her mother. The two were still standing in the cemetery having a stand off. 'When are you going to understand Davina! I have defended you since they came back. Through all of Nik's ramblings and with your feud with him. Since day bloody dot I've been there for you! You spent so long telling me how you felt like Marcel had left you behind.' Astrid was clearly hurt, 'You know, I went to Marcel's last night. I was ready to go for him because I thought it was him who asked you for the blade! But then you offer it to him?'

'Klaus needed to be put down, Astrid he killed Aiden!' Davina bit back and Astrid vamped toward her, making the witch jump back.

'He didn't kill Aiden, Davina. He didn't kill Aiden. And even then, what did you think was going to happen when you went to Marcel Gerard of all people?' Astrid growled, 'You picked the one man in this city who would gladly involve himself in a revenge vendetta against my family.'

'I thought I was your family.' Davina looked hurt, tears pricked in her eyes and Astrid stepped back before sighing. She went to sit down and Davina watched her. 'You are my family, Davina. Which is why I can't grasp the fact that you didn't think I'd handle this situation instead of making a bloody dagger.'

She sat down next to the hybrid, 'Kol asked me to help him.' Davina pulled her legs up to her chest and Astrid turned to face her. 'Kol has had a revenge vendetta against Nik for a millennia. The two have been at it for ages.'

Inside Klaus's Mind.

'Charming.'

Klaus had followed Dahlia through her mindscape into a hut quite similar to the one he lived in as a child. 'This dismal hovel is where I endured the terrors of Viking captivity for years.' Dahlia explained and motioned to the younger version of herself standing over a table, 'I performed the dark magic they demanded so that Esther would be free of their violent abuse. While she was out in the sun gathering herbs, I toiled in the gray of this room. But, I never resented her. We'd made a promise.'

Nik was beginning to understand what she was trying to do. Dahlia hoped that a shared plight of a vow between siblings may waver his alliances. He didn't fall for it, 'Is this your feeble attempt to garner sympathy? To what end? No ancient plight will justify your intentions to enslave my daughter!'

'Oh, Niklaus, our plights are the same.' She didn't look at him as she spoke, instead she looked toward the doorway where a younger Esther skipped through with a bright smile on her face. Nik saw his mother in a different light, whilst the young Dahlia was wearing darker colours and covered in blood, Esther was wearing a pastel yellow and wore flowers in her hair.

Flowers that reminded him of his wife.

'You've been with Mikael.' Dahlia's younger self looked obviously upset but she kept it together as Esther replied, 'We were only talking.'

'No matter. I have something to show you!'

The Bayou.

'You used to run these woods when you were cursed to your wolf form?' Hayley asked Jackson a curious question as they ventured away from the Quarter. The whole pack had left with them, each wolf carrying a weapon whether that was a crossbow or an axe.

'And before it. I was an angry kid-- I was pissed we were exiled, I was pissed at my parents, pissed that Astrid had to stick with Marcel, pissed you were gone...'

'Every kid with the wolf gene is angry. I was a nightmare. Triggering the curse actually settled me down.' She admitted and Jackson shook his head, 'Not me. I got worse. Of course, it was different-- you know, when I triggered my curse, the Crescent curse kicked in, so I was stuck as a wolf all month long. One full moon, our Alpha didn't show up. He was killed. After Astrid killed the vampire who killed our Alpha, I stepped up. Protected these people, kept them safe, and that calmed me down... at least, for a little while.'
