Mikaelson Compound.

'It's Mikael' Astrid had a stone face when she landed in front of Klaus and Elijah. She had interrupted a conversation between the two brothers informing each other about their days. Elijah sighed as he answered the question Astrid had already answered for him, 'I saw him standing there in the flesh as you do now. He was enslaved with some spell cast by Davina. He holds the stake. If she chooses to release him...'

'Well, then there's only one question we need to ask, isn't there? Which of our parents do we kill first?'

Astrid didn't feel like talking so she made the assumption that Klaus had a premonition that Cassie was in fact his mother. She watched as the conversation ended and how Klaus hadn't even looked her once, wondering how she knew it was him. He ran straight over to Hayley and began to argue with her about the influx of Crescent wolves she was letting stay at the Compound.

Beginning to walk away, she pulled at white shirt and undone another button - the garment suddenly seeming overbearingly tight. Elijah grabbed her before she could walk up the stairs, spinning her around to face him. The concern was evident in his eyes as his daylight ring clad hand stayed on her shoulder, 'You knew it was our father before I said anything. How?'

'It's okay, 'Lijah. I don't think he saw me. Davina has him at St. Ann's Church.'

'Are you sure he didn't see you?' Elijah panicked, knowing exactly what he would do to her if he found her again. 'Astrid if he-'

'-He didn't 'Lijah. I'm okay' she smiled sadly at his sudden affection. The two stood in silence for a moment before Elijah spoke up again, 'He didn't even look your way did he?'

The night was long and winding and Astrid had collapsed at the end of the line, her lip quivered. Elijah saw this and instantly took her into his arms, 'In a thousand years, I've never let anyone come near you and I have failed all but once. I don't plan on making it twice.' He whispered into her ear and she hugged him tighter, the smell of expensive cologne engulfing her and she found comfort in her big brother figure.

They pulled apart and he smiled, holding her hands. 'I watched your first steps, Asty.' She grinned at the old nickname he used for her, 'You're now this powerful, indestructible woman with the world at her feet. He sees this just like me. You've grown and changed so much, even as an immortal and this scares Niklaus. You could love that man with every ounce of your being and he would still be convinced he wasn't good enough for you.'

They looked at him on the sofa, he leant his head back on the leather seat with his arms stretched out and his eyes closed. 'It feels like I have to compete with the city.' She whispered with her hands still in his. He looked back at her and brushed a ringlet out of her eye, 'He knows you feel like that. He doesn't know what to tell you because he still struggles to see you as the same woman you were. He spent a century without you.. his pride will never let him admit that he got used to doing things without you.'

'What do I do, 'Lijah?'

Her green doe eyes reflected the lighting of the Compound and Elijah saw the young girl he rescued from his father. He couldn't help but grin and she smiled a little, 'What?'

'Ten centuries and those eyes haven't changed one bit.' He kissed her forehead lightly before giving her one last piece of advice and walking off.

'You two are more like each other then you know. Do what you would want him to do.'

She looked over to her husband and sighed. He looked defeated. The return of his parents suddenly knocking him over. He lazily picked up the bottle of bourbon on the dark wood side table and took a swig before almost dropping it. Astrid composed herself before walking over to him. He opened his eyes and looked at her drowsily. She picked up a pillow from the other side of the leather sofa and placed it on the side where he was, balancing it on his right leg and it leaned on the arm rest. She sat down next to him and fell onto his lap, him watching her the whole time confused.
