"You can rot with the rest of them."

She could've hit him in that moment. She could've swung at him but she kept herself composed. Astrid simply stayed silent, walking out of the room and letting her husband watch her with regret. She was going to leave the Compound and go anywhere, wanting to be anywhere but the mansion. 'Astrid!' He groaned as she walked out and she almost laughed at the audacity he had.

Am I inconvenient love? She thought as she darted to the balcony until she overheard Elijah and Rebekah in the study. Pressing her ear to the door, she heard Hayley's voice over the phone, 'Elijah... I'm calling to say goodbye. Hope and I... we can't be part of your family anymore.'

Her jaw dropped and she came into the room with a start, both Rebekah and Elijah turning around. Elijah was close to tears and Astrid went to stand by him as the voicemail carried on, 'All Hope's life, her family has tried to destroy her. That can't be my little girl's story. Family is supposed to love you. Even if she is free of Dahlia's first-born curse, Hope would still be Klaus' daughter.' Astrid grimaced at those words, she couldn't deny the truth.

'She'd inherit a thousand years of enemies, all his anger and rage... I don't want Hope to be a Mikaelson, all the pain that comes with that name... She doesn't deserve that. Elijah, I... Goodbye.' The voicemail ended and he put his head in his hands. 'She's right, Elijah.' Rebekah admitted and Astrid brought him into a hug that he accepted. He almost collapsed into her, the suited brother's cool demeanour crumbled away in that moment and tears finally brewed in Astrid's eyes.

She gritted her jaw to keep them from falling, a denial of feeling keeping her on top of the situation but Rebekah noticed, 'Those are a lot more then tears over this. Astrid what's wrong?'

'Nik's awake.'

Lafayette Cemetery.

'I knew you were the smartest of your siblings. There's no brute Viking blood in those veins. I'm glad to see you made the right decision.'

Dahlia smiled from ear to ear as Klaus made his way into the tomb where she was practicing magic. He was still weak from the lack of blood in his veins and Astrid had stolen his breath with the argument they had. 'I never cared for Hayley. But, you should know, the rest of my family will stand against us in defense of her. Even Astrid, she defends Hayley as if they were kin. My wife has been swayed.' He grunted as he came to his knees in front of his aunt.

'We will have to go through them. Are you prepared for that?' She asked, blood running between her fingers. 'They have more than earned everything that is to come... We need to hurry. Even now, Hayley is attempting to flee with my child.' His eyes swayed around before they made eye contact and Dahlia looked down at the wooden bowl in front of her.

'Mmm, don't worry. She won't get far tonight.'

Klaus had one last request, 'All I ask is that my wife comes to no harm.' Dahlia rose an eyebrow, 'I thought you said she turned on you?'

'She's loyal to this family. Once we take out my siblings, I'll handle her.'

...

Bourbon Street.

The stirring weather didn't stop the partygoers - something to be expected from the people of New Orleans. Festivals still raged on as a couple stumbled down an alleyway, juiced up on the contents behind the bar at Rosseau's. The man had his arm around his girlfriend as sung as he walked.

'Badadada da dadada'

Klaus Mikaelson appeared from the shadows, looking like his old self. 'Good evening. I wonder if you could help me? I'm feeling a bit famished.'
