Astrid awoke to the sound of Billie Holiday; which would've been comforting if she wasn't aware of last nights events. Mikael's death was a triumphant win in the eyes of her and her husband however she knew that no one else would think the same.

Throwing on a quick v-neck and jeans, she made her way to the art room and creeped through the door. Throughout the centuries, it was agreed that Klaus Mikaelson's chaotic head was at its clearest when he was either in the arms of his wife or when there was an enemy to take down. She watched as he dipped his brush into a red paint before dipping it in an urn. Astrid tilted her head before walking over without announcing herself, looking over into the urn with her arms crossed.

Nik jumped out of his skin and saw how curious she looked, awaiting her reaction. 'You're putting his ashes in the paint.' She stated and looked back up at him. He smirked and went back to painting, provoking Astrid to come back over the table and take him away from it, placing a hand either side of his torso and smiling.

'What are you planning?'

'The upper hand, darling. I'm planning the upper hand.' He grinned down at her before kissing her forehead and leading her out of the room, 'Come on, love. We'll come back up here after. I smell food.'

...

'Is something the matter, brother? Can I fix you a drink, perhaps?' Elijah looked more then bothered that morning, as if he could burst a button on his shirt if he grew any more angry, 'Strangely enough, Niklaus, I'm not in a mimosa mood.'

'Fantastic! More for me.' Nik smiled and Astrid held her glass out with a grin, 'And for me too.'

'Let's discuss strategy, shall we, Niklaus? Just wondering if you actually have one. We can begin with Mikael's ashes. Given that they are the main ingredient in our weapon against Dahlia, would you care to tell me where they disappeared to?' Elijah turned to Astrid next, 'Or you? I'm sure he told you their location amongst all the sweet nothings he was probably whispering to you last night.'

Astrid scowled at him and was about to bite back until Klaus cut her off, 'Elijah! I have compelled the city's finest pastry chef for your own personal edification, and yet, you ignore my efforts in favor of needless concerns!'

'Can we stop talking so loudly?'

Rebekah came in groaning and holding her head and her eyes brightened when she saw the coffee pot, 'Give me that.' Astrid sniggered and sipped her mimosa, 'What's the matter, Beks? Your witch body not as durable as your vampire one?'

She shot her sister in law a look, 'So I had a few.' Rebekah sat down next to Astrid, 'It's not every day that you loose your father to your brother... again.'

'Whoever said opportunity only knocks once, eh?' Elijah and Rebekah stared at him blankly, 'Oh, come on! We all fled Mikael's tyranny together for centuries! I would have thought the mood this morning might be a bit more jubilant!'

'Under normal circumstances, the annihilation of our father would be rather commendable, Niklaus. Unfortunately, we have a greater threat to contend with.' Elijah stated and Astrid scoffed, 'If you're concerned about Freya then I say she's going to have to get over it. She hasn't been here. She has no idea what Mikael has done to us.'

'You know, for someone who's been invited to a celebratory breakfast, you're proving quite the buzzkill.'

'Well, Niklaus, if anything indeed has killed the..."buzz," as you say, perhaps it was because murdering Father alienated the one person who truly knows how to defeat Dahlia!' Elijah stated the source of his ire and Astrid rolled her eyes, 'As I said, she's going to have to deal with it. If she really is the all powerful super Mikaelson witch then she should have the emotional stability to deal with that.'
