Chapter 38

Nanginginig ang kamay ko na nakahawak sa kumot dahil sa napapanood ko ngayon na paghahalikan nilang dalawa ng bigla namang ma cut na ang mismong video.

Why? Why does it have to be her? Bakit ang kaibigan ko pa?

“Fine. As long as you’ll make up a believable story about you cheating on him and that you were actually in a relationship long before you two met and that you just used my son for his money.” Tumango ako dito.

“Good. Now we have a deal, Hija. I hope you won’t renege our agreement on this. Because I hate people who can’t keep up with their promises.” Tumango ako muli at pinunasan ang luha ko.

“Here, take—” Tinabig ko ang kamay niya na inaabutan ako ng makapal na pera.

I felt so betrayed by everyone at this moment. Why?

I ran as fast as I can to leave that place while bawling my eyes out. I stopped at the garden to get some air and to calm myself. I felt my heart beating so loud and fast as if I’m about to have a code blue.

“A-ang sakit sakit. Hindi ko man naisip na magagawa sakin ni Leo ‘yon.” Pag hahagulgul ko dito.

“I may be in no right position to tell you this because I am not in your state. But at least consult Leo first before you make an impulsive decision.” He said while gently stroking my hair.

Days had passed and I kept ignoring him. He once confronted me if he had done something wrong for me to ignore him. I want to slap the hell out of him and tell how jerk he is to cheat on me. I want to love him, but I can’t. Because every time I stare and look at him I remember how he and my best friend shared that kiss.

And just like that, I broke up with him. I made him believed into my lies that I got pregnant by another man and that I used him for his money. I saw how hurt he was, and he deserves it.

Every painful words I drop, he deserves it.

It’s been one week since I lost my job and started working for Joshua instead. But somehow, a piece of my heart feels like it was stolen. I kept looking for him, his presence. And sometimes, when I look at Josh I find a glimpse of us.

“So… I don’t know if I could still trust you, Leo.” I was still bawling my eyes out after telling him the whole truth. It feels like a half of the pain I’m carrying deep inside my chest was finally gone now that I told him what I really went through.

But it’s not over yet… It doesn’t still changed the fact that he cheated.

“I’m sorry if I didn’t tell you. Yes, she kissed me. B-but we never hook up. It was my fault, for lying.” Lumunok ako. Magkatabi lang kami at nararamdaman kung nanlalambot ang katawan ko pag dating sakaniya.

“Then how do you explain the video I watched?” I looked at him with my puffy eyes hoping to find answers

He took a deep breath before he opened his phone and played a video. “I got this video from, Sky. Thanks to him I have the full video recorded without the audio cut. I hope this will answer all the questions in your head.”

“Babe, come on please. Let’s have s*x.”

“Ayoko, malalaman ni Trinity. And I haven’t yet lose my mind to have s*x with you. At kahit mabaliw man ako, I would never do it with you. And even if we’re still together we both know I would never have it with you. So please let’s stop this insanity of yours. We’re done! So please just let me be happy with, Trinity.”

Malakas ang boses ni Leo pag dating sa iba lalo na kay Nicole.

“You talk to much, Babe.”

Doon ay hinalikan niya na si Leo. I was about to be emotional again kaso pinigilan ko ito ng naalala kung dito na banda nag cut iyong video.

Hindi pa man umaabot ng limang segundo ng itulak ni Leo si Nicole. “Fuck!”

Tumama ang likod ni Nicole sa isang aparador dahil sa lakas ng pagkakatulak ni Leo.

“I’m here to end things between us, Nicole! Not to make up us again. We’re done! We’re done! How many times do I have to tell you that—”

Natigil si Leo ng makatayo na si Nicole at sampalin na siya. Kita sa video ang pag igting ng panga ni Leo bago nag walk out. Sinubukan pa siyang habulin ni Nicole kaso pa ulit-ulit lang siyang tinutulak ni Leo hanggang sa sumuko na din si Nicole at hinayaan na si Leo na makaalis.

“I’ll make sure you two won’t end up together! I am making sure of that!”

Then the video was cut.
