Chapter 41 Plans

Niyati's POV

Friday morning I was sitting in the Accounts department of Oberoi group of Companies waiting for my Monthly expenses cheque.

I had expected a cheque but when I was handed cash I was surprised. Not that I was complaining. I needed it to go shopping. Cheque would have taken time to clear and I don't think any store will accept cheque as payment.

I was surprised because I don't think any big company can hand over cash to their employees except for small expenses. And this wasn't a small amount. But then I was told that Mr. CEO had asked them to withdraw cash for me. I made a mental note to thank Shaurya later.

All the documents were signed and Mr Desouza personally gave me a brief tour of the company. I really enjoyed his company. Not only is he smart but he is funny too. And when he laughed only one name popped in my mind again....Santa Claus.

Finishing all the formalities I ended up in front of the person I was least interested to see. Mr. Abhijay.

When Mr Desouza took his name for the first time I saw his face frown. He tried to mask it immediately but it didn't escape me. Looks like we share the same distaste.

I was trying my best to avoid Mr secretary but then Shaurya had asked me to see him before leaving and so I had to face the evil gatekeeper outside his cabin.

" Didn't take my advice, did you? Your loss!"

He just shrugged his shoulders and picked the intercom on his desk.

" Niyati is here.....yes sir.... sending Miss Sharma right away."

Placing the receiver in its place the devil raised his head.

" Miss Sharma please go in. Sir is waiting for you."

Special emphasis was on Miss Sharma. It looked like he was saying something and meant something else.

I decided to ignore him and went inside.

" When did you get on the first name basis with Jay?"

I hadn't even stepped in the cabin and Shaurya fired from behind his desk.

Who is Jay?

" Jay?"

I asked, confused.

" The idiot sitting outside. I asked you something."

Why is Shaurya getting so irritated?

" What do you mean? I have never talked to him before yesterday. That too he came and started talking. What are you so angry about?"

I was really confused.

" You mean he talked to you when I went out for sometime?"

I just nodded.

Shaurya was lost in his thoughts for sometime.

" He warned you about my mother, didn't he? That's why you where having second thoughts right?"

I wanted to say yes but I was afraid Shaurya might lose his temper and act irrationally.

" He was just asking me to be careful. And please end this topic here only. Dragging it will create unnecessary problems. Plus, you are my boss now. It doesn't look good for a boss to keep involving himself into his secretary's petty issues."

Shaurya kept a blank face but I could see his hands clutching the chair's handle tightly.

"Hmm"

Was all he said and started looking for something in his drawer.

" Here! It's my old cell. It has all the important contact details. I had kept it just for that. It's yours from now. That way you have all the contact information and I can call you whenever I need.
