Niyati's POV

Entering the house my eyes roamed every corner taking in as much as possible.

It was big but simple. In fact, so simple that the living area only had a sofa , a dining table with some chairs and a humongous TV hanging on the wall. Nothing else.

No curtains, no paintings, not even a single cushion on the sofa. Even the dining table was empty. Not even a jug of water in site.

Whoever designed the house had done a good job but it looked like no one really cared to actually make it home.

Even from the door I could see the enormous balcony. I couldn't stop myself. It was so nice to have such a big balcony. It would look so beautiful with colourful plants. Ours is very small even then I have one plant in it. I made a mental note to transfer the plant here. Also if Shaurya gives permission I would like to buy a lot more.

I knew Shaurya was watching me trying to be as discreet as possible. But he is a straight forward person, so all this discreet thing wasn't going on very well. I couldn't help laughing in my mind. He can be cute at times. Thank God he can't read my thoughts.

" Oh common!! Just spill it out already. Bro is dying to know how you find the house."

Shikhar can be a spoilt brat at times.

" It's more like a bachelor's pad."

Ashu couldn't hold back either and Aasma instantly nodded her head. These two are so much alike.

I could see Shaurya sulking a bit but he masked it immediately.

" I was thinking you could take the room upstairs. I hardly use the floor above. So you can have it for yourself if you like."

Shaurya was in his business mode talking to me ignoring every one else.

Wait! One more floor? And me all alone there?

It was then that I saw stairs leading upwards. No one seemed interested in going up but then I needed to see where I was supposed to stay so I started climbing the stairs while others made themselves comfortable on the sofa.

It was dark above. I knew Shaurya was behind me. Just on cue he switched on the lights.

This floor was no different than the one below. The architecture was the same. Same sofa and TV positioned exactly like below.  Just that this one looked larger in the absence of the dining table.

But one thing was clear, just like below even this place was regularly dusted. Not even a particle of dust. Surely Shaurya has some help.

" The rooms are this way. There's a master bedroom and one more besides it. You can take the master bedroom here. Mine is downstairs."

Shaurya had already opened the room while he was explaining.

It was huge. It must be the size of our whole house together. It had the bare necessities just like the rest of the house. A king size bed, a wall mounted cupboard and two sofa chairs. I felt like I was in a hotel.

" A.. I…"

" What? Look if you don't talk to me freely it will be difficult to maintain your role as my secretary. "

He can be scary sometimes.

" Is the other room downstairs occupied? I would rather stay in a small room than here, all alone."

" Are you sure? Whatever you like, but it's smaller than the master bedroom. I thought you would like the idea of having the floor to yourself. Are you scared of living alone?"
