Kasey froze as she heard the older woman shout at Tya. This wasn't good. Everything had been kinda nice today until this moment. She then stood and looked at the two before whispering.
"I should just go..."
"I think that would be a great idea. And don't ever talk to my daughter again!"
"Yes ma'am."
Kasey then walked out of the house and shook her head as the tears that she held back when she had spoken to the older female started to leak from her eyes. She then started on her way home. Her breath was shallow and her head started to hurt. She hated how she was hated already. It wasn't like this town liked her as it stood but put the fact that ninety-five percent of the town was homophobic and you got a recipe for disaster. Sure, Tya had it easy because she was popular before she came out of the closet so no one was going to hurt her in any sense but when it came to Kasey, it was completely different.

Kasey walked into the house and headed upstairs, her eyes still struggling to keep the remaining tears at bay as her mother had left a voice message that she wouldn't be there when she got home. With a small sigh, she went up to her room and grabbed the knife from under her pillow before running her finger over the blade. Everything about the feeling of it spoke of pain. She didn't care though, nothing mattered. Not even her.
This isn't fair! What did I do to deserve this? Nothing that I know of, but I still have to rely on a blade to feel better.
With that, Kasey sighed and placed the blade on the bed before whispering to it.
"Don't worry, I'm going to be back soon."
She then went downstairs to greet her mother that had just walked in. She gave a fake smile as her tears had dried by now.
"Hey Kasey, are you okay?"
No, I cut my wrists to pieces everyday!
"Yeah, just a bad day at school."
"Oh, want pizza for dinner?"
"Really?"
"Sure, I think we have one in the freezer. Why don't you pull it out?"
"Okay."
Kasey then went into the kitchen and pulled the pizza out before placing it on the counter. She then gave a soft sigh and went back to her room as she shouted.
"Call me down for dinner!"
"Okay Hun."
Kasey then sat on her bed again, the knife in her hands as she sighed slightly and shook her head. She didn't want to do it, it was too much for her. The pain was pulling her apart from the inside. She wanted it to stop.
'Kasey, man up and learn to deal with it!'
But it hurts so much...
'So? Everybody gets this way and you don't see them wanting to kill themselves! They try their hardest to work through it! Think about Tya! How would she feel if she found you doing this again?'
She would hate me.
'No, she would take the knife from you and take you to the hospital!'

It went on like that for thirty minutes, Kasey had argued with herself in her head for that long before she picked up the knife once more and cut her skin open, her eyes closed in pain as she felt her other side screaming for her to stop. Half of her wanted to live. The other half was wanting everything to end though. She didn't know which side was winning. At that moment, her 'mom' walked in and gasped.
"Kasey!"
In that moment, Kasey pulled the blade away from her skin and looked at the other female as she felt that look of pity casted onto her yet again.
"Yes, mother?"
"What's wrong with you?!? I thought you were okay!"
"As if you care, you only took me in because of my inheritance!"
"I do care! Give me the knife!"
"Why? I'm already in pain without it!"
"Give it!!!"
"Fine!" Kasey then threw the knife to the ground and grabbed her stuff from the drawers and began to pack. "I'll be ready to go in a minute!"
"Go where?!?"
"Back to the orphanage! I know that you want me gone know that you know I'm broken!" Kasey was crying the entire time she spoke, the blood spilling from her wrists was starting to cause her to get lightheaded. And with that, she collapsed. Her eyes slowly fluttered shut as she heard the woman that had taken care of her for the past few weeks scream and run to her side, begging for her to wake up.
A/N: Yeah, this chapter is very depressing, I know. I also know that depression is very serious and cannot be ended with just a kiss. It takes time, will Kasey have that time to recover though?
