PENNY

I get home and Andile is not here. I go to our room and sit in the shower, crying. I don't know how long I was there. But Andile finds me in the fetal position and cold water falling on me.

Andile: No, no, no my love. Don't do this.

He struggles to carry me out. But manages. I smile watching him at work. He dries me up, lotions my body and covers me in the thickest, warmest gown in the house.

Me: I went to see him.
He looks at me
Me: I had to talk to him. I'm sorry
I look down, embarrassed at what I did.
Andile: I drove you into his arms my love and now you just saw him marrying my sister.
A tear escapes. He wipes it off.
Him: I will spend the rest of my life proving to you, that you didn't make a mistake coming back to me.
Me: I love you Mpungose.
Him: So you went to that fool huh?
I smile
Him: And he left his new bride to meet my wife. Uzonya
Me: Baby
Him: Trust me uzozisola(He will regret it). Ngiyindoda mina. Now come here. Let me remind you why you married me and not that fool.

JOSHUA

I tried to talk to my wife all night. No success. The last thing she said to me was that I was forgiven. And nothing else.
She wakes up in the morning and goes to shower. She comes back, gets dressed and goes to the main house. Still nothing said to me.

I find her in the kitchen giggling with my mom while they are making breakfast.

Me: Good morning ladies. I kiss my mom on the cheek and give my woman a peck on the lips.
Them: Morning
I sit on a bar stool and my wife gives me soft porridge. It tastes perfect. Just the way I like it.
Me: I love you.
She doesn't answer me, she just goes back to stand next to mom. I look at both of them and I can tell they are both annoyed with me. I need to fix this.

Me: Last night I went to see Penny. After seeing her at your house I knew I'd have to set things straight. You told me about your new sister and how you 2 had gotten close, but I didn't for a second think it was the same person. What are the chances that out of 30 million women in South Africa, you two had to be best friends? Not only that, but that moron of hers is your brother.

They are watching me intently not blinking or moving or even breathing.

Me: The discussion was so intense we ended up falling asleep. I promise you nothing happened. I promise you, we respected you. I will never do anything to hurt you my love. What we have is the best thing I've ever had. I couldn't bare to lose you.

They both just look at me, no response. If I had taken the 2 hours I promised I would, none of the shit would have happened. We would live this moment as an important meeting between 2 people that had unfinished business to handle. But now I was gone for close to 6 hours and spent all that time alone in a house with my ex. Alana hates to argue, so honestly I'm just expecting tears but she just hugs me and walks out. She comes back 5 minutes later wheeling her suitcase.

Alana: I have to go.

She rushes out and there's an uber at the gate she gets in. I'm still in shock. My mom slaps me and I snap out of it. I rush after her, but the taxi is gone
