Chapter 13 - Engagement

Clari's POV:

After talking to Diego I quickly headed back to the others, trying to calm myself down again, but it couldn't work too well because Rodrigo noticed me being upset right away.

- What's wrong? You seem really upset - he said as soon as I arrived.

- No, n-nothing... - I muttered.

- Clarita... I know you're lying - he sighed then he took a hold of my hand.

He has always been so caring so even if the others were around us no one was suspicious.

- Not here... - I groaned, trying not to start crying again - I can't tell you here...

- Okay - he nodded then took a hold of my hand - Then come with me...

He pulled me to his dressing room so we can be alone and there I decided to tell him as he wouldn't let me do any other way anyway.

- So it was Diego - Rodri groaned, getting angrier and angrier.

- Yes, but please... Don't do anything...

- But he keeps on hurting you all the time!

- Against that you know what's the best medicine? - I asked, smiling at him, but he was too annoyed to realize what I was thinking.

- Hm? What?

I grabbed him by his collar, pulled him closer and kissed him on the lips.

I could see he was pretty surprised at first, but then he kissed me back passionately and it immediately calmed both of us down.

Later we went back to work and I felt happier than before that even Diego's presence couldn't make me upset and he didn't seem to be upset either.

- Hey... - I mumbled, but before I could say anything more he spoke up.

- I'm sorry... I shouldn't have act like that - he sighed - I just want you to be happy and I want to be sure if you're in good hands... You're my best friend after all.

Best friend... Why does this so painful to hear?

- Yeah... Best friends... - I muttered.

- Can I get a hug? - he asked with a cheeky grin on his face which I couldn't say no to and went to hug him tightly.

- Best friends... - I muttered quietly as we were hugging for a few more seconds, but as I was thinking more and more about that I felt like my heart was ripped out of my chest.

The next day I went to work as usual and nothing interesting happened at all, except that Tini noticed me and Diego keeping distance.

- What happened between you two? - she asked me - You two keep on avoiding each other all day.

- Nothing happened - I shaked my head - And we're not avoiding each other... We're just uhm... Working...

- Yeah, sure...

At this moment Diego appeared next to us...

- Can you both come to the restroom? - he asked, seeming to be nervous.

- Yes, sure! - Tini replied - But why?

- You'll see it soon - he smiled then walked away while me and Tini just looked at each other in confusion then soon we followed him to the restroom.

When we all were there I saw Diego and Annalise came in, holding hands.

What the hell is going on?!

- We have something important to tell you all... - Annalise started, looking really excited - Because you all has to know about it.

Diego smiled then held up her hand and just then I saw it and I was standing there, frozen...

- Me and Annalise are engaged - Diego said happily and I couldn't help, feeling broken while Rodrigo pulled me into his arms and hugged me tightly...
