He first loved us

We love Him because He first loved us.
1 John 4:19

Do I?
Do you?
Do we?

A while ago, priest asked how much do we love God?
And it hits me hard.
I questioned myself too.
Sa dami ng patama, I was beyond guilty.
Until he says the things that make us loved by God.
Mula paggising sa umaga, pagkakaroon ng maayos na pangangatawan, and such.
But above all, He first loved us because Jesus sacrificed His life for us. Because He truly loved us. Isang patunay ng pag-ibig.
Love isn't about how it makes us smile.
Love isn't just about the happiness we often feel when something great happened.
Love isn't just about good things.
Love isn't just about all the batterflies.
Love isn't just about sweetness.

Jesus had taught a lot in so many difficult ways because He loved us.
Jesus prayed alone because He first loved us even His Apostles chose to fell asleep instead of praying with Him.
Jesus accepted the fact na may magkakanulo sa Kaniya despite all the goodness He had been giving to all His people.
Jesus had been denied not just once, but three times of someone He trusted but chose to forgive because He first loved us.
Jesus suffered all but bravely face the fact na mapako sa krus because dude, He chose to saved us first. Because first, He loved us. Sheezz. Are you not crying? Because I am. He loved us.
It was the cross. It was the cross who symbolizes the true love.

Jesus is love Himself.

Let me ask you again,
Do you love God?

Do you love Him kahit sa mga panahon na dinudumog na tayo ng sangkatirbang suliranin?
Do you love Him even in times of failures?
Do you love Him even in times of not achieving our own plans and desires?
Do you love Him when someone dies.
Do you love Him when your grades are failing?
Do you love Him when no one tries to listen?
Do you love Him when someone tries to mock you?
Do you love Him when everytime the struggles rises, you just want to give up?

Continue being grateful to every good things but never forget that you have to be grateful as well to every bitter and rough road that the world tryin' to break us.

Do we really love God?
When all He did was to save us but all we did was to wreck ourselves?

Love isn't just about receiving.
It's all about giving.

Because, again, He first loved us by giving Himself to save us. 🖤
