"ℂhange of plans," Vivi grits out, eyes shining with fiery determination, "We're going after Crocodile."
Everyone moves out, their new objective burning through their minds as they trek through the hot arid desert to save a country from tearing themselves apart. Liliana stays quiet through their trip, a million plans and scenarios running through her head. Distantly she can hear Luffy and Usopp fighting over the water and she can hear Chopper trying to fight through the heat. She can also hear Vivi explain to everyone that Rainbase was a gambling town but all Liliana can do is reach the final conclusion.
They won't win against Crocodile in their first confrontation.
"There," Vivi calls out to everyone, an opulent city appearing in the haze of the heated desert, very different from the other towns and cities they saw.
"So is that the city?" Chopper asks as Luffy yells and cheers.
"So after everything that has happened," Zoro says, "Are we operating under the assumption that Baroque Works now that we're here with them?"
"We have to," Liliana answers, "With Mr 2 knowing our faces and Mr 3 making it to the country full knowing we were heading towards Alabasta, there is no way they won't."
"Who cares about that?" Luffy scoffs.
"They know exactly what we look like so we won't do much in Rainbase, so just lay low," Usopp answers, only for Luffy to angrily ask why. "Well before we could even encounter Crocodile, he could probably think of very nasty ways to take care of us."
"Assassination is kinda their area of expertise," Zoro points out.
"LAYING LOW BUT WE'RE COMING FOR YOU CROCODILE!" Luffy yells only for Usopp to hit him on the head.
"Actually I had an idea that involves not laying low," Liliana says, raising her hand up with a slight smile, gaining puzzled looks. "It involves a whole lot of chaos and falling right into their hands."
"What do you mean, Liliana?" Vivi asks.
"Well Vivi, do you remember Mr 2? When he changed to look like your father. I've been wondering why this whole time and I was hoping that Crocodile himself would tell us," Liliana answers, "Don't you want to know what he's got planning for Alabasta?"
Vivi stays silent, jaw tensing as she tightens her grip on the reins. She hasn't spoken aloud about it but she couldn't help but feel dread at what Crocodile has planned. Just what kind of devious scheme has he got for her dear father. This country and its people. Just what more could he possibly do to destroy her home.
