May 15th - Great Hall

It was the day of the final Quidditch Game, Gryffindor against Hufflepuff, which in turn would determine the winner of the Quidditch Cup.

As expected, both Ellie and James were in huge amounts of stress, while Sirius and Peter were having too much fun rilling up the stressed Hufflepuff.

"Puff, you know we love you," shouted Sirius across the Great Hall to the Hufflepuff table "But Gryffindor's winning this match,"

"We'll see about that you arrogant piece of-" the blonde was pulled down by her captain, the same time James shoved Sirius to the side lightly

"Pads, shut up and focus," he said, before addressing the rest of the team "We need to win, it's not just the Cup that's at stake. Nephie's bet on us losing, and I do not want to have to endure her teasing, am I clear?"

"Let me get this straight," said McLaggen "The reason why you want us to win is so that Winchester's ego doesn't get any bigger?"

"No, I just don't want her to be right again. It gets frustrating after a while, trust me," replied the curly-haired boy

Sirius went to speak up at that but was caught off by Sproud walking up to the Hufflepuff table. The expression the older witch wore was one all students at Hogwarts had become acquainted with over the past year: dread, sadness, pity. The entire student body fell silent since they knew what was about to happen, the Professor was on her way to inform a student that their parents had been killed, or taken.

Unfortunately, everyone's suspicions were confirmed when a third-year, his eyes already starting to tear up, stood from his seat and followed after the teacher.

"Shit," said Peter, and the others nodded

"They've gotten more frequent now," commented another Gryffindor, "Just two days ago, a Ravenclaw was pulled in, entire family, dead. Dark Mark over their house,"

"Black would know all about it, wouldn't he?" added a Ravenclaw that was passing by "Aren't your parents supporting them? Your brother's friends with those Slytherins,"

All the marauders' ears perked up at that, and they turned to the boy with varying expressions of anger and upset. When Sirius first joined Gryffindor, he was given a hard time by everyone telling him he doesn't belong there. Over the years, however, the boy had grown to be the popular teen that everyone loved. However, with the war happening all around them, people were turning at each other, desperate to shift the blame to someone in front of them, rather than the true culprit who was miles away and take their anger out on them.

"You want to say that again, mate?" asked the werewolf, raising an eyebrow

Despite everyone knowing that Remus Lupin was the calmest out of all the marauders, but they also knew that all bets were off when it came to someone insulting his friends. According to the rumors around the school, the boy had severe anger issues, something that the marauders found quite funny since they knew the real reason.

Despite that fact, the Ravenclaw boy didn't back down, "Look at that, Black needs his bitches to deal with his issues for him,"

"Eli don't-" tried his friend, who obviously had more common sense than him once he saw all four Gryffindors stand up agressively

By some miracle, Professor McGonagall walked up to them before a real fight could begin, "Detention, Mr. Brekker," stated the Professor calmly

"What for?" asked the boy

The witch looked at him up and down, clearly annoyed by him, "Dress code violation," she said "My office, tomorrow."

They left after that, although the mood had already soured. Sirius went back to eating, gripping the fork and knife in his hands tightly, while James was shooting daggers at the retreating forms of the Ravenclaws'.
