"Dally, I don't think we're gonna make it."

"Me neither."

I had my door opened for once, surprisingly. I was writing a short story while sitting on my bed when Dally waltzed into my room nonchalantly.

I shoved my pen and paper to the side and hung my head off the edge of the mattress upside down and he smiled and leaned down and kissed me.

"Whatcha writing?" He asked and picked up my paper as I tried to grab it back.

"He loved me, and I loved him. Though, nothing could change the future. Nothing could change the past. So as I watched him step into the spotlight I knew he belonged in, I stood in the darkness and applauded." He read out loud. He looked up at me with my red face and put the paper on the bed.

"Damn Y/N, that's deep."

"Yeah whatever." I said and folded the paper and put it on my desk. He hugged me from behind and kissed my neck and I smiled.

"Was it about your ex again?" He whispered in my ear and I hung my head.

"Yeah." I knew I couldn't have lied about it. My ex was my first love. Of course I still had a feeling deep down in me, but it wasn't as strong as my feelings for Dally. And Dally knew that, and understood that.

"Well, could he do this?" He spun me around and grabbed my ass roughly as he deeply kissed me.

"Oh Dal," I said as I pulled away and put my hand on his face, "We can't."

"Wow your dad is such a cockblock." He said and walked back to my bed and sat on it and dangled and swung his feet. I noticed he was hard and I giggled.

"Oh, I'm sorry Dal." I said and he smiled at me.

"You're cute, you know that?" He responded and I sat on my bed next to him. We both fell back simultaneously and he looked at me.

"You got your sex face on." I said and he rolled his eyes. His 'sex face' was an inside joke between him and I. Every time he was horny and I couldn't supply, he'd stare deeply into me and forget he was even on earth. Presumably thinking about what he wanted to do to me.

"You wanna get out of here?" He asked and I looked back at my ceiling.

"Sure." I said and he got up and reached his hand out for me to take it.

I took it and we went outside to his car. I loved going on car rides with him, because we could either sit in each other's presence and enjoy it, or talk about nothing and everything all at once.

"Dally?" I said after we had been driving for a good 20 minutes, his hand on my inner upper thigh and my hand on his.

"Yeah hun?" He said and briefly looked at me.

"We should get married." I said with a wide smile and he stared at me with his mouth open a little bit.

"Eyes on the road!" I yelled as he almost hit a woman on the side of the road.

"Sorry." He said as he squeezed my thigh.

"I think we should get married. And get a dog, and a house. Ooh! And maybe one of those fancy fish!" I went on about.

"Honey, I dig you. I dig you a lot." He said as pulling to the side of the road.

"Mhm," I said as he kept his hand on my thigh.

"But really? A fancy fish? Come on, man, that might be too much." He said with a smile and I kissed him deeply.

"You're crazy, you know that?" He said as I pulled away.

"You love it." He agreed and I moved to lean my head on his shoulder and he wrapped his arm around me and put his hand on the wheel.

"I think it's a good idea," He finally said as he pulled into his own driveway.

He got a run down, barely livable house after a huge fight with Buck that drove him out. It was old, tight, and dirty but it worked for him.

"I want to be with you forever Dal." I said and he smiled.

"Want to go have rough sex?" He said as he kissed me.

"I wouldn't want to do anything else." I said and he carried me into the house.

~~~
"I'm just gonna make something simple!" I yelled to him as we washed up from our fun.
"Sounds good!" He yelled back and I turned on the stove and tossed the grilled cheese on the pan. I knew he didn't want anything special, and I didn't want to make anything special. Bread and cheese was the only thing he had in his cabinets anyway.
I put the pan in the sink and one half of grilled cheese on one plate and the other on another. I handed it to him and walked away into the small dining room.
Forgetting to shut off the burner.
~~~

As we cuddled into bed, I started to smell something. Something burning, and I got paranoid. I made Dally get out of bed and check it out. He grumbled something and stumbled out of bed and walked out into the hallway.

He ran back into the room and caught his breath.

"The goddamn kitchen is on fire!" He yelled. I jumped out of bed and looked at the kitchen and it was engulfed. It spread to the dining room and living room and that's when I realized, we were trapped.

I ran to Dally as he realized too and we escaped into the bathroom. We slid down the wall, me in between his legs and his arms wrapped around my chest.

He kissed my cheek lightly as I let a tear slip. I saw the blazing light underneath the door and I knew the fire had spread to the hallway, and the fire reached under the door and I cried harder.

"Dally, I don't think we're gonna make it." I said, and he brushed the hair out of my eyes.

"Me neither." And I cried even harder hearing that.

"I don't know what it's worth but I love you." I said and I looked at him and he had tears in his eyes too.

"I love you." He said with a weak smile across his face and I kissed him. Knowing damn well that it was the last kiss I'll ever give him, I made it last for whatever it was worth. He knew too, and he didn't want to let go either. We felt the heat on our bodies and he hugged me tighter.
