I carefully closed the front door behind me so she wouldn't hear me come in, I was coming to surprise her after being gone so long.

I creeped to her bedroom and slowly opened the door and saw her sobbing. I opened my mouth a little out of shock and I started to tear up myself, I hated to see my girl cry. I carefully walked up to her and put a hand on her back and she jumped but looked at me and hugged me. "What's wrong darling?" I whispered and she cried into my chest.

"My brother is leaving me here." She said and I let a tear fall. She was genuinely hurt from this, and I hated to see her this way. "It'll be alright." I said and stroked her hair and she pulled away and smiled at me and dried her tears with her sleeve.

"This shouldn't been what you came home to," She giggled and I smiled. "I don't mind." I said and she kissed me. "I missed you so much," She said after she pulled away and I blushed, but not too much.

"Y/n I'm leaving now I'll see you when I see you," Her brother said and she nodded and when he closed the door, the waterworks started.

"Oh baby, it's alright!" I said and I comforted her again. Her brother was the only thing at home that could protect her from her father, and he's off to the Coast Guard. I understood that I couldn't replace him but I wanted to help her.

"I'm okay, right? These things happen, I'm fine." She repeated and I started to tear up at her sad state. I looked away but when I blinked the tear rolled down my cheek and she caught it. "Don't cry over me, I'll be alright." She said and I chuckled. "I know, I just hate seeing you cry that's all."

"Y/n- when did you get here?" Her dad said as he walked into her room. I looked at her scared and up to her father. "I came back from a trip, I came here to surprise her."

"Okay well you should have told me first-" he began and she shook her head. "Let me enjoy this for once." She said and he looked at us and walked away. She made a fake hand gun and pretended to shoot him and we both started to laugh.

"You alright now?" I asked as she fell into my arms. "Now that you're here." She said and I smiled and kissed her.
