Sanctuary

Meredith: For most people, a hospital is a scary place...a hostile place..a place where bad things happen. Most people would prefer church or school. Or home. But I...grew up here. While my mom was on rounds, I learned to read in the O.R. gallery, I played in the morgue, I colored with crayons on old E.R. charts. The hospital was my church...my school...my home. The hospital was my safe place...my sanctuary. I love it here. Correction, loved it here.

Cristina: "No way."

Meredith: "Yeah."

Cristina: "No freakin' way."

Meredith: "Right?"

Audrey: "Oh, my God. O-okay. Um...were you trying to get-"

Meredith: "No. Total accident. I used the thing."

Cristina: "Oh, so are we happy, uh, about this? Or are we exercising our legal right to choose?" she questions as Meredith takes in a breath, plcacing her hand on her chest as she smiles

Audrey: "Okay. All right. Congratulations."

Cristina: "Let's hug it out."

Meredith: "Okay."

Cristina: "Oh, my God. Are you-are you-are you gonna tell him? Have you told him?"

Meredith: "No, I just found out." she breathes as their pagers start going off

Audrey: "It's Hines."

Cristina: "Oh, Teddy."

Meredith: "Derek."

Cristina: "Well, are you gonna tell him now?"

Meredith: "Yeah."

Cristina: "Okay."

Audrey: "Hey. How is the Teddy and Owen thing going?"

Cristina: "Oh. Oh, fantastic. It's going great. I'm completely over it" she sarcastically says, making the two give her a soft look "This is very adult. I'm really proud of you, Meredith Grey." she nods, placing her hands on Meredith's shoulders

Meredith: "I'm proud of me, too?"

Cristina: "Yes, yes."

Meredith: "Okay." she laughs as they go their separate ways

Audrey: "Hey, I hope it has his hair."

Meredith: "Me, too."

Audrey: "What's up?"

Zachary: "I'm going out of town for the next few weeks. Family stuff. So you'll be in charge of checking on my patients. I would say they're not emergent but...look at where we work."

Audrey: "No problem" she chuckles "Everything okay with your family?"

Zachary: "Yeah. Just the typical haven't seen them in practically over a year so it's either they come to me and complain nonstop about how I'm getting called away or I can just go out there where ther's no distractions."

Audrey: "Ah. I get it."

Zachary: "It's a light load today since I leave tonight. Gotta get a few things square'd away but you mind taking care of these for me?"

Audrey: "You got it."

Zachary: "Thanks." he breathes, squeezing her shoulder as he walks off

Meredith: "Hey" she greets, coming over to where Audrey and Cristina are sitting on a bed in an empty hall "Did you get that page? Lockdown?"

Cristina: "Yeah. I mean, whatever. It means we can't leave. I never leave here anyway so what do I care? You know what? It's probably just a drill. Or, like, a psych patient got out or a baby went missing from the nursery...or there's a-there's an ax murderer on the loose."
