Chapter 22

The next day after eating brunch with maddy I decided to go to my mom's house to see if she is already home since vinnie sent her on a vacation. I parked my car in front of my house and took a deep breath before walking towards the door. I stepped out of the car and rang the doorbell.

I heard the door unlocking and saw my mom and how her eyes widened when she saw me.

"Oh my god, Avery" her hand went to her chest as her respiration increased.

"Mom, hi" I tried to hold my tears but she hugged me without thinking two times.

"Where have you been, my little girl" she cried in my arms

"Don't worry about it mom, I'm here and that's what matters right now" I wiped my tears with my hand And pulled away the hug

"Come in, please" she said and I walked in, the old smell of my cozy home, and my mom's favorite perfume smell around the house brought memories to my head.

I went and sat on the couch with my mom

"Where are you living, please tell me, I'm your mom I deserve to know you're in a safe place" she took my hand.

"I'm living with my boyfriend" I stated

"Your boyfriend? Since when you have a boyfriend and how, I never heard you talking about him"

"well yea, I met him a couple months ago, and we just clicked, I guess" I sighed

"Why didn't you come back home, you know you have one,right?" she said

"Yes mom of course, but it's a long story and I feel like you're not mentally prepared to hear it"

"Avery, I deserve to know" her voice changed

"Mom, I know, but please give me time. I'm seeing you after like 8 months"

"Whatever Avery, I need you to come back home, as soon as possible" she demanded

"Mom, I have a new and totally different life, I'm not a child anymore. Please" I pulled away my hand

"No, I won't allow that, who knows how you're living, probably sleeping on the streets, not eating, not showering" she started assuming things

"Mom, the last things that would happen to me are those, I'm better than ever, I have stability, I have a car and I have a house, everything" I tried to explain her

"How do you even afford that, what does your boyfriend do for a living" she asked

"He is a business man" I said and she raised her brows

"What type of business man"

"He owns a couple clubs and hotels I think, I don't really get into his job stuff too much" And that's the truth,doesn't vinnie own hotels and clubs?

"And what do you do for a living" she asked

"I- I don't have a job" I said

"So you're living off his money, I taught you to never do such a thing, and it's the first thing you do" she raised her voice

"Mom, leave it alone, he just doesn't want me to get a job, that's all what is your problem if he can maintain me and all the things we have then what's the problem"

"Nothing Avery, there's no problem" she crossed her arms

"Great" I rolled my eyes "where's dad?" I asked just out of curiosity

"He had to go to a meeting, I'm going to tell him you passed by, I'm pretty sure he will be so happy" she smiled

"No, mom, I rather call him and set up a day to see him, please" I said and she frowned
