Y/N's POV

The sound of movement in the kitchen woke me up. I look over at the nightstand and check the time. The time read 8:30 a.m. I throw the covers off my bed and swing my legs over the bed. I put on my slippers and head out into the kitchen. I see my mom standing there making herself a cup of coffee, already dressed in her work clothes. She looks up from the coffee machine and sees me, a smile forming on her face.

"Good morning sleepy head. Did I wake you?" She says.

"You did but it's okay, I wanted to wake up kind of early today." I say and head to the cupboard and take out a bowl and the cereal. I pour some cereal into the bowl and then grab the milk out of the fridge. I pour some milk onto the cereal and then when i'm done I put the milk and cereal back into their original spot.

"Do you have any plans for today? Seems like you and Marcel have gotten close, you hang out almost every day." She says as she pours her coffee into a mug. I give her a weird look and then go over and grab a spoon by where she is. Once I grab it I go and sit at the table.

"We are going to the beach again, except this time with some of Marcel's friends." I say and put a spoonful of cereal in my mouth.

"Sounds like fun." She says and turns to look at me, taking a sip of her coffee.

"What is it you want to say mom?" I ask.

"It's nothing." She says and sets her mug down on the table and takes a seat by me.

"You have that look on your face, I know you want to say something so just say it." I say. "Whatever it is i'm sure it's not gonna bother me." I add and eat some more of my cereal.

"Honey I just don't know how to feel about you spending so much time with Marcel. You know we are only here for the summer and you getting attached is only gonna make things harder for when it's time to leave." She says and grabs one of my hands and squeezes it.

"We just got here mom and Marcel and I barely started hanging out together, i'm not gonna get attached after a few days." I say.

"I was young once my love, and I know how teenage feelings and hormones work." She says.

"Oh god mom can we not talk about my teenage hormones right now, it's too early." I say and grimace.

"You mean to tell me that you guys have never kissed in these few days y'all have hung out." She says with a knowing look on her face.

"We only kissed yesterday." I mumble and then put another spoonful of cereal in my mouth.

"I'm sorry what was that." She says now smiling slightly.

"Ughh I said we only kissed yesterday. Okay there I said it you happy now." I say. (idk why but this reminds of that one audio "we kissed once!!" yk what im talking about? hopefully anyways let's continue)

"Babe, I just want you to be careful. Enjoy your summer but also know that we have to leave at some point." She says and gives me a small smile.

"I know mom, just let me enjoy this while it lasts." I say.

"Alright honey. I have to get going, don't want to be late. Have fun and be safe today." She says and places a kiss on my head before grabbing her bag and other things she needs for work.
