"All right, JJ! Pin it here!" John B declares.

"Rodger that! X marks the spot!" The blonde boy replies, stopping the boat.

"All right, ladies and gentleman. To going full Kook" John B announces before dropping the drone into the water.

Kiara starts lowering the tether into the ocean and I sit next to my brother up front, swinging my legs as I hum a soft tune to myself.

"All right, JJ, we're right over it! Ten seconds northwest!" John B orders.

"Got it! Ten seconds northwest!" JJ repeats.

"A little help here, Ads?" Kiara asks.

"Sure thing, Kie" I chirp, hopping off my seat and walking over to the Carrera girl.

I see the first red piece of tape on the tether and draw a line in chalk on the boat.

"One hundred feet!" I holler.

Pope suddenly gasps and John B jumps to his side.

"What? What, what, what, what?!" The brunette snaps.

"It's nothing" Pope replies.

"Calm on the dramatics for now, honey" I advise the boy.

"Sorry, I thought-" Pope is cut off.

"Don't do that to me, man! Come on, bro!" JJ shouts from the wheel.

"My bad. I just thought I saw.." He drawls off, shivering.

"A mermaid?" I suggest and he shakes his head at me with a smile.

"And to quote The Hobbit, 'Down, down, to Goblin Town. Down, down, you go, my lad'" Pope quotes and I snort.

I turn to concentrate on the tether and my dark haired friend until soon enough the tether is almost halfway down.

"Four hundred feet!" I shout, marking down another tally mark on the boat.

"The tide's turning!" Kiara says worriedly.

"Hey, JJ?!" John B speaks.

"Yup?" My brother chirps.

"Ten seconds easy, all right? South-southeast" John B demands.

"Copy that!" JJ tells him.

"JJ, 20 seconds mid-speed, all right? South!" John B then shouts.

"Copy that! Aye, aye!" JJ shouts back.

"Keep the tether out of the prop!" He adds to Kiara.

"I'm trying!" Kiara huffs.

"JJ, keep going!" John B barks.

"John B, is that good?" JJ asks as thunder rumbles in the distance.
