Chapter 55

"Kendra…"

She looked at me with her natural brown eyes. Hindi siya umimik subalit sa paraan ng pagbaling niya sa akin, nag-aabang na kaagad ang mata niya sa sasabihin ko.

For the first time, Kendra and I will walk together in Versace Fashion Show. Ilang taon na kaming nakakatanggap na dalawa ng offer sa iba't-ibang brand para maging runway model at sabay na rumampa.

Now, we both decided to accept it for a new experience.

"Where do you want? Left or right?"

We’re now here… sa mismong lugar na paggaganapan ng catwalk para magpractice.

I stared at her, waiting for her answer. I'm gonna let her choose the spot she wants to take.

“Here na lang ako sa left,” she pointed the left side and smiled at me.

I nodded and went to the right side, just beside her. We talk for few minutes before we started to practice our walk. Nakafocus lang ang paningin ko sa harapan habang naglalakad.

In the middle of our serious walk, I glanced secretly at Kendra and when I noticed that we’re not synchronized, I stopped. Kendra continued to walk and before I even called her name, she stopped walking when she saw that I’m not with her anymore.

Mabilis siyang bumaling sa likuran. I smiled at her the moment our eyes met. I then started to walk towards her.

“We’re not synchronized. I mean our walk,” I informed her.

“Really? I didn’t notice, I’m sorry…” binalikan niya ng tingin ang nilakaran namin.

Ilang minutong nagtagal ang tingin niya roon na para bang may malalim na iniisip at pinapanood. Few minutes, she sighed quietly and nodded.

“Okay. Let’s start again, Ate…” her voice was soft.

Tumango ako, payag sa sinabi niya. Nagsimula na ulit kami maglakad pabalik para pumuwesto sa pinaka-entrance ng runway. Kendra and I started to practice our walk again. Naging mas maayos at maganda ang kinalabasan ng mga sumunod pa naming lakad. We also practiced with other models. Iyong pinaka mangyayari sa mismong fashion show na sunod-sunod at pangkalahatan.

“Miss Kendra!” her personal assistant walks towards us with a huge smile on her face.

Nadako ang paningin ko sa isang malaking bouquet ng bulaklak na dala-dala niya. One looked on the bouquet of flowers she’s holding, my lips automatically flashed a smile.

Magiliw na binigay ng assistant ni Kendra ang bulaklak sa kanya. Kendra accepted it without saying anything. Her brown eyes immediately search for the card. When she it, mabilis niya iyong binuksan. Her perfect eyebrows knit up a bit as she read the words written on the card. Nang matapos sa pagbabasa nawala rin naman ang kunot ng kanyang noo at umaliwalas na ulit ang mukha.

Hindi ko na inusisa kung saan galing iyon dahil alam ko na kaagad. She always shares to me what’s really happening to her life. Kung anong nangyayari sa araw niya, sa trabaho at lalo na sa mga lalaking nagpaparamdam at nanliligaw sa kanya. Kaya kahit hindi ko na tanungin alam kong galing iyon sa isa sa mga manliligaw niya. 

Oliver, I think. One of the popular international solo singers in today’s generation. I already met him a few times in events such as birthday parties of our common friends in this industry, sa mga shows at marami pa.
