Chapter 38: Absolute Defense III

On the other hand as Gabriel and his 200 angels troops alongside 300 angel reinforcements which was on the way to the northern border was fighting against the soldiers of the Amid Empire,  the floating Kingdom itself was slowly but surely was floating towards the direction to the north

In actual fact the kingdom itself had already left the premises of the capital city of the Celeste kingdom for about 3 days ago and this time Asagi was sitting on her throne together with Ariel her new archangel, Anna and Lloyd her assistants at the moment, and Darius the guild leader of the adventurers guild in the Azure Kingdom itself

But instead of talking to each other which they normally do, they were in fact watching the battle in the north through the use of space screen magic which was casted by Asagi herself in her throne, due to that they were watching watching everything unfold in real time

Right about now they were currently stunned at the sight of numerous mana cannons that is being rained down on the battlefield, it was as if the whole stars itself in the night sky was falling down like a meteorite to the ground, but since the Amid Empire soldiers were on standby as a defensive line near the wall, the angels and the soldiers of the Celeste Kingdom which was scattered on the battlefield were the primary targets for such cannons

In that instant Asagi clearly saw about 189 mana shots were fired in a single minute towards the battlefield, with such firing mechanism equivalent to a mana based fast shooting artillery, Asagi then couldn't help but notice numerous soldiers of the Celeste Kingdom being bombarded nonsensical to their own deaths

In actuality she could even saw some of the angels which was the troops of Gabriel being shot down from the sky due to such rapid mana shots, but when they fell and even before they manage to stand up, they were then bombarded by such mana shots coming from the mana cannons on the wall, thus leading to their own deaths

All in all if she counted all the casualties in those few minutes or moments, she could sum up around 30 dead Amid Empire soldiers, 87 dead Celeste Kingdom soldiers, and 21 dead angels

With no way to defend against such weapon, they then saw Gabriel and the rest of the angels zooming towards the walls of the Empire in an attempt to bring down those mana cannons, but as they get closer, more and more angels were being shot down by the mana cannons

At last after some struggle they managed to get to the wall bypassing the rain of cannons and were now dealing with humans of the Amid Empire

Unsheathing their blades they then lounged towards their opponent as they strike out their first strike

While the angels begun their massacre, on the humans on the walls, Gabriel himself was now face to face against one of the commanders of the Amid Empire which was seemingly wielding a lance and a shield

In that split moment Asagi then thought up of an idea of helping Gabriel by firing her own mana cannons towards the wall in one shot in an attempt to take down it's defenses

With a shot equivalent in strength to ten laser beams, she would then need about a considerable time to adjust the aim of the cannons towards the northern wall and gather the necessary power to make such a shot as powerful as it can be, after all they are still quite far away from the northern wall, thus a powerful and long shot can only be done once

After with such commanders defending the north, Asagi could presume that they wouldn't fall for the same trick twice, thus she had to make this Longshot a worthwhile

Looking out towards Ariel, she then ordered

"Tell everyone to brace themselves especially the people of the kingdom"
