Chapter 11

It had been nearly a week since the dating scandal and everything was seemingly going well for the group members. They had been keeping themselves busy with their practice as a solo concert in LA was soon approaching and they didn’t want to mess up at all after everything that had happened. Although hyunjin had been paying more attention to his work, he never failed to meet Felix at least once a day. Sometimes they would have lunch or dinner together and it was always a great time for both of them.

But Felix was still a bit sad over the fact that he had to be away from the company of hyunjin for two weeks due to their concert and then a short break. Although he looked forward to having a great time with the members, he wished that hyunjin would somehow miraculously show up and surprise them. And it seems that his wishes were being answered.

“What are you saying? Are you coming to LA with us?” asked Felix who was excited upon hearing the news

“Yes, I am. My brother wanted me to take care of some work there and therefore you all will be leaving with me on the 22nd. I will also attend your concert and if possible, then stay for a while in your break.” Said hyunjin who was smiling upon seeing how excited Felix was.

Although he was still not sure about his feelings for him, he couldn’t deny that Felix held a special position in his life. He wanted to take care of him and protect him no matter what. Call it friendship or something else, it didn’t matter to him.

“That’s great. I will inform all the other members and then we will leave together.” Said Felix whose excitement was going through the roof at that point.

“Alright, you do that. But first, finish your drink at least.” said hyunjin who was smiling over how excited Felix was after hearing the news

It was now the 22nd of the month and all the members were checking their belongings before leaving their dorm for going to the airport. They were supposed to meet hyunjin in the building's parking lot so that they can get to the airport at the same time. After hyunjin informed Felix about him coming along with them to LA, Felix had been excited the rest of the week. The members noticed this and were able to pretty much guess what was going around with both of them. After checking their luggage for the last time, they locked the door and moved to the parking lot where hyunjin was already waiting for them.

“So, should we get moving?” asked hyunjin

“Yes, we all are ready but what is the flight departure time?” asked chan

“Whenever we board.” Replied hyunjin

“What does that mean?” asked minho

“You will know soon enough.”

After driving for nearly an hour, the members reached a place that was different than they had expected. They had expected a lot of paparazzi and fans in the international airport but right now they were at an isolated place with just some big buildings standing in the middle of nowhere.

“Where are we hyunjin? It’s not the airport.” Asked Felix

“Did you really think I was going to take you and board a commercial flight with a swarm of sasaengs behind us? We are in the right place, don’t worry.”

“But I don’t see anything here, how will we go to LA?” asked a shocked jeongin

“Why do you keep forgetting that I am one of the richest people in the country? We all will be taking my jet.” Said hyunjin in a very nonchalant manner

Although for the members it was a different situation. They hadn’t expected hyunjin to take all of them to the states in his jet and they were flabbergasted, to say the least. After they all came back to earth from their thoughts, they boarded the plane after hyunjin and sat comfortably without the fear of any obsessive fans harassing them midflight.

Although they didn’t say anything, they were thankful for hyunjin’s consideration on multiple occasions by now. After flying for some more hours, they finally reached LA airport, and here they were escorted by their pre-arranged bodyguards. They all were suffering from jet lag and therefore were tired to their bones. After they reached the hotel they went into their respective rooms and call it fate or destiny, hyunjin, and Felix's rooms were in front of each other.

The next day all of them went out of the hotel into their respective schedules. The members left for the venue of their concert to practice on stage and hyunjin left for his office in LA for the work he was here for. The rest of the day was pretty much uneventful for all of them. In the evening after they were done with their rehearsals, they all went into a bar in the hotel to enjoy themselves. But as they had minors in the group, not all of them were able to drink properly and therefore they went for dinner.

Although they invited hyunjin, he had to decline because of an important dinner appointment. Felix was keeping himself busy with the stage practice and stuff and tried to not focus on hyunjin at least for some time. After the scandal incident, he had been spending quite some time with hyunjin and that didn’t go unnoticed by the other members, so when they were eating dinner at a secluded table minho popped up the question.

“Felix, where is hyunjin?”

“I don’t know, I think he had some kind of important appointment so he declined to join us. But why are you asking that to me? You were also there.”

“I am asking that to you because you are the perfect person to ask about hyunjin. You two are quite inseparable from that scandal incident.” Said minho while keeping a smug look on his face

“We just have lunch sometimes. That’s all.” Replied Felix who was now feeling the heat in his cheeks

“As if you are just friends. Everyone here knows that you are head over heels for that guy. Aren’t you?” asked minho

“ahhhh hyung… let’s not talk about that. Just eat your dinner.” Said Felix who was completely red from embarrassment by now

Minho dropped the topic soon after and the rest of the dinner went by without any hitch. After they were filled with their dinner, they said their goodbyes for the night and went into their respective rooms.
Although Felix stopped minho from going on about that specific topic, it struck a string in him as to what he felt about the guy.

Was it just a fleeting moment of attraction? Is it an infatuation? Is it a simple crush? Or is it love? Felix was confused about his feelings. But what he knew was that he wanted to stay close to hyunjin no matter what. He wanted to care for him and understand him on a deeper level.

Lost in thoughts and suffering from  jet lag, Felix was not able to sleep till midnight. He was also wondering about the whereabouts of hyunjin as he hadn’t heard his door open until now which meant that he had not returned from the dinner party. Just as he was about to drift off to sleep, he heard a door opening around midnight and associated the person to be hyunjin.

He went near his door to say goodnight to him but before opening the door, he took a look outside from the peephole. What he saw at that instant completely woke him up and crushed his hopes. Felix didn’t make a sound and just kept on watching silently until the door opposite to him closed. After the door closed, he just slid down the wall and sat on the ground for some time before going to bed with red and puffy eyes.

Before he fell into a deep sleep, only one scene was repeatedly flashing in front of his eyes.

The scene where hyunjin hugged a guy before they both went inside his room.
