The campaign was taking off quite well to start with. Everyone seemed invested in Eddie's elaborate story telling and the boys couldn't wait to get their characters on a new adventure. Nothing like the smell of fresh dungeons in the morning, or rather early evening. The group had been at the Henderson residence since about six p.m. and it was now going on seven. The game hadn't even really, truly, begun when the boys heard a noise so delicate, it shook all of them into stopping. A coo of girlish giggles sounded through Dustin's bedroom door as the sound of dainty footsteps on the carpet outside of the door moved across. Mike cleared his throat several times before Eddie regained his focus.

"I thought you said your sister wasn't having friends over tonight?" He questioned, with what he wanted to display as a mood of irritation, but truth be told, he was filled with morbid curiosity.

"Not to correct you, Eds, but Dustin definitely said his sister was having a few friends over to swim," One of the more stout boys sounded off to defend Dustin.

The group sat quietly for a moment, gauging to see if Eddie would snap back with a witty remark or even worse, a demand of a dice roll. The gang couldn't afford to bomb anymore perception checks and they had only been playing for an hour. "Ya know . . . my sister said we could always go to her pool party thing?" Dustin's inner curiosity of the girlish giggles had also encaptured his attention.

"Fuck that!" A boy with blond hair shouted, "And Dustin, how would Suzie feel about you traipsing around at a high school party?"

"Technically my sister was in college so-" Before Dustin could finish, the blonde boy interjected yet again.

"And what disrespect to Eddie's campaign no less! Our DM worked hard on this I'm sure!"

The boy wasn't wrong. Eddie had been planning this semester's campaign for what seemed like all the summer months. Now school was unfortunately back in session for Eddie who couldn't graduate the year before. He was determined to make 1985 his year though. Speaking of years, the mention of Dustin's college sister intrigued him for a moment. It was no secret to anyone in Hellfire Club that for some reason, Eddie got all flustered and goofy around Delilah. She once rang him up at the record store she worked at and all Eddie could talk about was how the drummer from Def Leppard only had one arm. Needless to say, she wasn't impressed. The two had been briefly acquainted at a birthday party once when they were in middle school, them being the same age and all. He just remembered the kids wanting to play spin the bottle and she decided to play foosball instead. Hot girl shit he chocked it up to.

"Henderson, why would I want to go to your lame older sister's party?" He said, partially covering up the desire to check out the party.

"Because my sister will, in turn, be attending." He shot back, knowing about Eddie's deep, dark, secret.

". . . You raise a valid point, kid." Eddie responded, quickly making eyes at the group before him, hoping Dustin hadn't made things /too/ obvious.

"Well if this adventure is going to continue, I'm going to need some major drinkage. Anyone else up for a beer?" He slapped the backs of both the stout boy and the blonde boy who had taken seats beside him before he lifted himself from his folding lawn chair. The boys groaned but eventually followed their fearless leader into the unknown of the kitchen. However, the boys stopped at the sight of two large kegs and two punch bowls. The punch alone smelled strong enough to make a drunk weak at the knees, and she was supposedly not having a rager tonight? The boys exchanged looks with one another before Eddie casually reached inside the refrigerator for one of the beers he had brought himself. Though depending on how the campaign went, he wouldn't be objecting to snagging himself some free beer from the kegs.

"Goddamnit Delilah, you said this wasn't going to be a rager!" Dustin swore from down the hall.

When the hell had that little shit disappeared and what was this about a rager? The boys peeked their head around the corner to see Delilah Henderson in all her one piece bathing suit glory. Her curly brown locks were tinted with various streaks of blue but only in pieces that surrounded the right side of her face. She was lightly tanned and her legs disappeared into the form fitting black and white polka dotted suit that hung over only one of her shoulders, leaving the other one exposed. He also couldn't help but notice a fanny pack wrapped around her waist. It was neon pink with black accents and he couldn't help but wonder why a girl like her would rock a fanny pack with a bathing suit. Eddie cursed at himself as he caught himself staring. Delilah Henderson was once the queen of Hawkins Middle and everyone assumed her reign would continue at Hawkins High. However, something changed with her. Dustin said she started smoking weed and drinking a lot. At school she always wore dark makeup and a baggy hoodie no matter what weather.

"Dustin, be cool," She tried to soothe his panic before making eyes at the boys staring at her from down the hall. "Look, Chrissy just invited the team and they invited their girl friends and stuff. I promise we wont bother you or anything," Her words were pleading, but Dustin was technically at her mercy.

"Come on guys, let's just finish this shit already," Dustin stormed off down the hall in a fit back to his room. The rest of the boys began to follow, Lucas following last besides Eddie who stood in the hall like a fool.

"Hey Delilah!" He spoke out, immediately regretting making communication with her. She raised her brows and offered him a small wave, "Nice uhhh . . . weather we're having huh?" Weather? The weather?! Eddie mentally berated himself, unable to believe he was trying to talk to Delilah Henderson about the goddamn weather.

"Yeah, perfect pool party weather," She said, starting to walk towards Eddie, "You and your friends should come take a dip." She noted with a smile before walking past him. He swore he could smell lavender and coconut as she did so.

What he wouldn't do to take a dip with his friend's older sister. The two were on different planes when it came to popularity but she just invited him to a party and his morals were being questioned. The guys would never go for it and he knew he shouldn't either. It went against everything he stood for, but he couldn't help but get lost in the idea of getting to have a full on conversation, maybe not about the weather, with his biggest crush. Ugh, the fact that Eddie Munson had a crush on anyone made his skin crawl. There was nothing metal about having a puppy dog crush on a popular girl.

"Eddie!" Dustin hollered from his room before he was quickly snapped back into reality. He wasn't sure what he was about to do, but he knew he'd certainly get some looks for it.

"Boys," He said, leaning over on his knees, "There comes a time when a man has to put everything on the line. And this . . . is one of those times." He cleared his throat and waved the boys closer to him as he spoke. "I say, we infiltrate Delilah's little rager."

"Infiltrate? The only thing you're trying to infiltrate is Dustin's sister," Lucas said exasperated. "Look, I'm down to go. The team will be there and I'm really trying to get in good with them before try outs next year." Eddie couldn't help but cringe at the idea of one of his Hellfire spawns leaving the club for a sports team.

"Sure Sinclair, whatever helps you sleep at night," He spat before looking at the other boys, none of them looked impressed with the idea. "Come on! Look, we started the campaign, this is a great stopping point," He half-lied, "Level with me guys . . . I have a chance to . . . ." He made eyes at Dustin before he retreated back to the rest of the group, "We have the chance to see what goes on on the other side. What truly happens at, for some reason, some of the biggest parties in Hawkins!" He knew he was losing them. His chances of talking with Delilah were slipping right through his ringed fingers. Her words kept replaying in his mind 'come take a dip'. He felt weak in the knees but knew that he couldn't miss this chance.

"If my mom finds out I skipped D&D to go to a party, she'll kill me!" The much larger boy spoke up, trying to just get back to the game.

"That's the beauty of it, we /did/ come to D&D. We adventured . . . kinda . . ." Eddie stood on the chair and looked down at the rest of the gang. "Look, any chance to ruin Jason Carver and his friend's time is one I'm not going to miss. Are you with me? Are we going to rock this shit like these jocks have never seen before?!" He raised his arms, hoping for a little more enthusiasm, but the only one that stood with him was Dustin, of course. His loyal friend would march into whatever battle with him, he was convinced.

"Get your swim trunks boys, we're taking a dip," Eddie repeated the words Delilah had spoken to him to the rest of the groaning posse.
