Hyesoo changed her traditional hanbok into a black attire. The knee-length frock perfectly lined her body curves while black skin-tight pants hugged her legs. Her hair was neatly tied to form a bun as she was devoid of any kind of ornaments. A silver sword rested in her grip as she practiced sword fighting alone.
Namjoon supervised her from far. He let her practice on the condition that she would not do so among the low-ranking armies. Since she was a queen, no soldier was allowed to fight with her. The Mins considered it a form disrespect.
Hyesoo obviously had objections to such discrimination but she decided to keep quiet. Namjoon had already broken his rule by letting her use the sword, she didn't want to make it more difficult for him.
Hyesoo's irises flashed from the reflection of the silver blade. She swung it very skillfully as she advanced in marked steps. She took two steps back and jumped high in the air before bringing down the sword to the ground. Then she stood up and wiped her sweat and resumed the practice.
Namjoon watched her with interest. He was already familiar with her sword techniques. He had seen her almost defeating Yoongi in the battle. However, it was different when he saw her practice. He could see something in her eyes that was not there during the war, glee. She was enjoying the practice.
"Commander Namjoon." Namjoon flinched at the sudden grave voice behind him. He turned around and immediately bowed in respect. "His Majesty."
Yoongi's sharp orbs were fixed on the Realian princess. He never paid much attention to her after their marriage. But seeing her in the arena made his heart beat faster than usual. He was amused. "What is she doing here? Are you not acquainted with the rules of this palace?"
Namjoon hung his head low in fear, "I forbade her. But she insisted. The rule also says you cannot disobey the Queen. So I let her practice alone, away from the men. I apologize for my behavior."
"Very well", Yoongi removed his cloak, rings, and necklaces and handed them to Namjoon. He also handed over the sheath containing his sword because sharp swords were not safe to practice. Then he took another blunt sword from the nearby rack and walked toward his Queen.
Hyesoo spun on her heels as her sword landed on something with a 'clink'. "You?!"
Yoongi smirked, "Let's do a match."
