The world spun around you. The only thing you heard was the ringing in your ears. You stared blankly at what was happening in front of you. Slowly you heard the screams. You got sucked back into the real world but still couldn't move. You looked at the officer that got shot. He dropped to the ground, and there was no movement. People rushed over, but you could see the pool of blood forming underneath his body. You felt your heart break more every second. He was gone. There was no way he was going to survive that. You could only hope for a miracle, but you knew better than to hope. You saw what was right in front of you. Nobody could save him. They could try all they wanted, but he was gone. The tears started to roll down your face. You felt numb. The screams became louder. You slowly turned your head and saw how his friend broke down. You saw how his brother yelled at people to get more help and tried to run over to him. People from the unit stopped him. You just stood in silence, looking at how your boyfriend slowly slipped away. Memories with him came into your mind. The moment you first met, your first kiss, when he said "I love you" for the first time, every single moment came back to you as if it was a movie.

You shot up, covered in sweat and tears. You looked beside you and saw that he wasn't there. It was like your heart stopped beating. It wasn't a dream? "Jay?" you asked. There was no answer. You threw the blanket off your body and walked around the apartment. "Jay?" You checked the kitchen, the living room, the balcony and the man cave; he was nowhere to be found. You made your way back to the bedroom, where your phone was. You took it off the charger and called Jay. "This is Jay. I can't answer the phone right now. Leave a message after the beep." You started the panic. No... It was a dream. This couldn't have happened to him. You called him again and again and again, but every time you got the same message. You decided to call Will. He could tell you where Jay was. They were close brothers.

"Y/N? Is everything okay? Why are you calling me at 2 am?"

"Jay... do you know where he is?"

It was silent for a moment. You started to feel the tears burn in your eyes. "Please, Will. Tell me that it isn't true...."

"Y/N, what's going on?"

You started to pace around the room. "Tell me the truth, Will...."

"I have no idea what you're talking about, Y/N. Where are you? Do I need to come to you?"

"Will, is he dead?"

"What?"

"Jay, did he die? Did he get shot right in front of us?"

"No, Y/N, what are you talking about?"

If Jay wasn't dead, then where in the world is he?

"Are you at your apartment? I'm on my way right now."

Your thoughts started to race. Why couldn't you remember if he went to bed with you? Why was everything so confusing right now?

"You have to say it again," you mumbled to Will as you sat down on the floor in the bedroom.

"I'm almost there, Y/N. Jay isn't dead. I still don't know what you're talking about."

You leaned against the bed and looked at the white wall in front of you. "I feel like I'm losing my mind," you mumbled. Will started talking to you, trying to calm you down, but the words didn't stick with you. You didn't even remember if you went to bed with him. Could you even remember the last time he kissed you? What was the last time he held you? Were you going crazy?

"Can you open the door?" you suddenly heard him say.

You made your way to the front door and opened it. Will was looking at you with worry on his face. He had never seen you act like this, and he had no idea what was going on.
