Claude was the second son of the emperor, with a common blood, he was the second in-line to the throne of Obelia. His mother was shunned by the emperor, and the empress started abusing him physically ever since he can remember. Although, he doesn't mind it one bit, because he have two people who cared for him. His mother, and half-brother.

He appreciated every single thing that Anastacius did for him. But it changed, one day. Now, sweet memories have turned bittersweet. All he could remember is Anastacius glare at him. All the horrid things he did, he can't forget. Especially when he killed his mother. Claude was angry, and decided to just end him.

But it seemed that Claude was wrong when he thought he was dead.

"He most likely to be moving inns to avoid eyes, Your Majesty." said Felix in a wary tone, as they looked where the former emperor found dead, laying at his own pile of blood with the stab that Claude have given him. "And there are no signs of magic in him. The thing that most likely killed him, is loss of blood."

"So are you saying that he resurrected with an injury of a stab, that i gave him." Claude glanced at Felix with his usual stern look, as he muttered the words with stoic. Felix shuddered in fright as he lowered his head at Claude. "Enough, let us go back. Athanasia suggested that to explore the west while we are here. I'm going to sleep."

"Yes, Your Majesty." Felix mumbled, bowing at Claude while he gets back at the carriage. It was a silent ride, and the only thing that filled Claude's mind were that time. The time where he killed Anastacius, having his head at his shoulder as he bled out.

It was finally morning, and Claude didn't even sleep one bit. And Athanasia noticed it, because of her father's groggy eyes. Athanasia tilted her head, as she sat down the table. Even when she greeted him, Claude was unresponsive.

"Papa." Athanasia called, waving her hand infront of Claude's face. After doing so, Claude then responded as he turned to her with a confused expression.

"Since when did you got here?" Claude asked. Athanasia tilted her head, furrowing her eyebrows at her father.

"I've been here for a few minutes now, Papa." Athanasia replied, pouting her lips as she sat down the seat. She turned to Claude, and saw him raising his hand as to motion to bring in the food. "Did something happened?" she asked Claude, as her father just simply shaked his head. "Then why were you spacing out then? If you're tired, we could just cancel our plans.."

"No, don't worry." said Claude in a tone of reassureness. Athanasia turned to him as Claude smiled, lighting up the room because of his unusual brightness. And heck, it's still morning. "I just had trouble sleeping, don't worry."

"Hmm, you should drink tea before you sleep. I heard..."

And as the day go on. The two enjoyed their week together. Full of joy, their vacation was relaxing. It was worth, every one bit. Claude was at ease, forgetting the fact that somehow, his brother resurrected. Thus, he decided to stop the investigation.

But weeks after, he sure did regret stopping investigating whatever happened to the former emperor of Obelia.
