It was a quiet Saturday morning at the Henderson household. Jessica and Dustin both sat on the couch, watching an episode of ThunderCats, until the program glitched, causing the siblings to groan.

"The TV better not be craping out on us," Dustin huffs, standing up. "Just smack the top of it," Jessica tells him as Dustin pounds his fist on the top of the box. The program continues to glitch for a few seconds before changing to the news station.

"We interrupt this program to bring you breaking news." "Great, just how I wanted to spend my Saturday morning, listening to the news," Dustin mumbles as he sits back down on the couch.

"This is Beverly Moss, reporting for Channel nine. We're in Forest Hills trailer park in east Roane County.  We don't have a lot of details now, but we can confirm that the body of a Hawkins High student was discovered early this morning. Police have not released the name...although we are told they're currently in the process of notifying the family."

"Holy shit," Jessica breathes out as Claudia walks into the room, hearing the news from the kitchen. "Someone was murdered?" she asks in shock, plopping down onto the couch. Tews jumps up onto her lap, Claudia immediately bringing him into her arms.

The Henderson family continues to watch the news.

"...Many of the residents we spoke to voiced similar concerns to us. Grief, shock, disbelief, anger. Everyone wants to know the same thing, how can so many tragedies befall a once-peaceful town? All eyes are now on the police for answers. Is the new chief of police, Powell, in over his head? Or is he the very savior this town needs? We'll be here the rest of the day right here on channel nine, where we'll keep you posted on all the latest developments. In the meantime, we recommend you keep your doors and windows locked tight. This is Beverly Moss, signing off for channel nine."
